Ok, people, I need votes for the top 5 action cues of all time. Everybody suggest some, and if someone else has already suggested one of yours, vote for it anyway.

    Here's some more:

    Mastadge Drag Stargate
Caviar Factory The World is not Enough
    Barbarian Horde Gladiator
Sail Barge Assault Return of the Jedi
Belly of the Steel Beast IJ and the Last Crusade
Lift Off/Escape to Paradise Chicken Run

Of course, I'm assuming you mean action cues that sound like action cues. If you were asking about music to accompany action scenes, then there are a few quite pieces of music which fit perfectly - such as the Emperor's Death from ROTJ, the whole crash sequence from Fearless, all of Born on the 4th of July, etc. etc.

(sound of old fogey dragging his ancient bones up to the plate)

For those among us (they know who they are) whose memories reach a little further back than the 1980s, here are some older gems (with a few modern ones thrown in to keep the young 'uns happy)....

Jerry Fielding: "Assault On The Train And Escape" from THE WILD BUNCH.

Jerry Goldsmith: "Bar Room Brawl" from LONELY ARE THE BRAVE. "You're A Foolish Man, Mr Flint" from OUR MAN FLINT. "Kaplan's Death" from THE CASSANDRA CROSSING. "Fire Fight" from THE CHAIRMAN. "Gut Reaction" from INNERSPACE. "Lockons" from RUNAWAY.

Benjamin Frankel: "The German Tanks Emerge And Break Through", "First Tank Battle" and "The Attack On The Fuel Depot Fails And Hessler Is Killed" (phew!) from BATTLE OF THE BULGE.

Ennio Morricone: "The Battle" from TWO MULES FOR SISTER SARA.

Michel Legrand: "Foiled Again" from THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

Mark Isham: "The Spike of Power" from COOL WORLD.

Mark Mancina: "The Rescue" from SPEED.

Lalo Schifrin: any of the fight cues from ENTER THE DRAGON.

John Scott: "The Wrong Bet" from LIONHEART.

Basil Poledouris: "Battle of the Mounds" from CONAN THE BARBARIAN. "The Invasion" and "Robert's End" from RED DAWN.

Roy Budd: "The Car Chase" from FEAR IS THE KEY.

Ron Grainer: "On The Tumbril" from THE OMEGA MAN.

    And two final words:

    Barry. Bond.
