Well....its doesn't sound as good as Jerry's but. Definetly something to look forward to on 5/12!

I'm just glad to hear Silvestri dealing with a different type of orchestral sound. If he can deliver an action theme anywhere near as fun as Jerry's, this one will probably be a keeper.

Can't see myself running out to buy this one. I'll wait for your opinions first, since sound clips can often be misleading.

Personally...I like what I hear better than Jerry's Mummy. But the full score will have to tell the tale.

Interesting. I like Silvestri's work and his fill in for Goldsmith on Judge Dredd resulted in a fine score.

It's reported that no themes from the first one will be reused but from what I hear the pallette is very similar to what Goldsmith used on The Mummy. Ominous trombones for the baddies, ethnic percussion and what sounds like a Lawrence of Arabia styled love theme.

Evidence that Steven Sommers directed Silvestri to an similar approach to what he asked Goldsmith for in the first movie.

Sounds great!! Just as HAL2000 said, I definitely hear where Sommers might have directed Silvestri down a similar path as he did Goldsmith. I'm anxious to hear this one.

...the song sounds, well... nothing like what I expected. Brian, I think you're gonna be disappointed... it's kind of annoying.

Wow! This score is going to Rock. (pun not intended) It sounds exactly how I imagined- Silvestri's style and sound incorporated into a large-scale Egyptian-themed score. It sounds so far like he's put a lot of effort into it too... I hear stylistic imitations of Goldsmith's original (not to mention a bit of that Jarre Lawrence of Arabia sound or David Arnold's Stargate.) But largely it sounds like a Silvestri creation with all of those huge brass chords and such. I hope I don't have to eat my words when the score actually comes out...

I'm officially excited for the summer movie (and film score) season now!

Imagine that an amazing score is released, one that leaves even Star Wars in the shade. We could then refer to it as 'The Mother of all Scores'

Ok, so I have a lot of free time.
