My Mother died last Sunday....Lung Cancer!...not a dignified way to go.I felt I had to mention this as I consider you people here as Friends of mine despite the fact that we haven't met face to face or even spoken to each other vocally.
I would just like to mention lastly that during my teens while I still lived at home that my Mum had a fine taste for certain Film scores, among her favourites were John Barry and Henry Mancini, but in particular she loved the music of Miklos Rozsa, espescially El Cid, King Of Kings and of coarse BEN-HUR.
I miss her so much!

that is an awful thing to experience. I am so sorry, and I offer my condolences. My dad lost his mother a few weeks ago, and it was sheer torture for him.

Dear Timmer, I am very sorry to hear about your sad loss. I lost my grandmother a few weeks ago to lung cancer (not the same as losing a mother but I understand a little of the sense of loss you will be feeling).
Your mother's wonderful taste in music (John Barry & Miklos Rosza) I am sure says a lot about her - I will be listening to them tonight and thinking of you both.Very best wishes

Timmer,Though we haven't spoken exclusively, I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. I've lost family members to cancer myself, and I agree, it is not a dignified way to go. Timmer, I'm very sorry for your loss. Although I don't know exactly what it feels like, I'm getting closer. My mother has MS, and is deteriorating rapidly, so I can understand a little. Best wishes to you.
