I had seen this movie several years ago when it came out on VCR tape and now again last night. I noticed the same thing about the score again. I have mentioned this before several months back on the other board. The score is almost totally arrangements and reworked around one theme-Southern Harmony, an old South tune. Its in there over and over at the first, middle and end of film. There were a few other cues, but mostly just that one adapted in three or four different ways. If you see the film notice that it is in there many a time throughout. Best, John.

You're right John...this is a really underrated movie to tell you the truth and Cooder's score was surprisingly excellent thanks to the help of the unsung George S.Clinton who really deserves all the credit on this one with all the arrangements and orchestration he provided.

Yes, the score seems to fit fine. Well, since Clinton did most of that and since it was all rehashed tunes, Cooder didn't do much of anything, did he?JW.

I'm sure Cooder at LEAST plucked away on the guitar...

If you're starting to suggest that Clinton (who's very talented) actually GHOSTED this score, then I respectfully beg to differ. It sounds as Cooderish as anything else in his canon, and if I'm not an expert, I'm damned well familiar with the work he's done.

If anything, I think GERONIMO is one of the weaker Cooder/Hill collaborations, but that's just one other moron's opinion.

<-- not a big Cooder fan, so anything I say about him is simply out of my distaste for his style. He's talented, that's for sure... his music is just not my flava. Dat's all, peeps.

If you take out all the variations and arrangements of the Southern Harmony tune, which is in about 2/3ds of the cues, there isn't much original music left actually. John.
