I believe you mean Glennie-Smith. And they all have their unique style. I am sure if Horner, Williams, and Goldsmith all worked in the same building, it would be the same way.

    No, they won't.

Please, don't compare caviar with a big mac.

I received GLADIATOR just this morning, and I've played it once so far. I don't think it's great, but it's certainly not as bad as some people have made out.

Having said that, I've no desire at all to get the "More Music From GLADIATOR" album.

I've ordered SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT (it was cheap). Have I wasted $5?

    Best: TOYS and everything else.

    Worst: K2 and nothing else.

I sense the lack of a violent nature in most of the members, as they seemingly do not find his melodically chaotic action scores appealing. Unforunately, what is so underappreciated is the the ability for Zimmer to compose aggression so damn accurately.

I suppose negative criticisms about his action scores (which for some pathetic reason ONLY Crimson Tide has earned any critical acclaim--a real shame even if it really isn't an "action" score by any means) will forever be the case if overcivilized individuals are unwilling to regress back to a more primitive state of mind. It's just more fun to be ignorant than neurotic.

Richard...I've found several pieces from the second gladiator disc that I enjoy over the initial score release.

There's some great music in there...unfortunately a good portion did not make it into the film...and of course there are other nice tracks ruined by dialogue.

A great and terrible release in a single breath!

    And since I never posted...
    Best: Thin Red Line
    Worst: His Romantic Comedy scores...

Any hey...Big Macs taste better than caviar

I like his action stuff as well! (Now playing THE ROCK, which is pretty terrific stuff, but I think RADIO FLYER is better as music).

CRIMSON TIDE is my least favourite Zimmer score that I have on disc, with the possible exception of A WORLD APART, which I keep forgetting I have on the grounds that I took it off the shelf and shoved it in a box out of sign with OMEN 4, HUDSON HAWK, Horner's RANSOM and all the other CDs I never play.

NP: THE ROCK (Zimmer and pals)
