I was watching the beginning of the usually pretty un-funny MADTv, and they were doing a sketch of a Oscar musical number of the overlooked movie theme songs
The first was the Dixie Chicks singing a song about Coyote Ugly. not funny. The next was Bob Dylan and Charlotte Church singning about Blair Witch 2. Whatever. Then Whitney Houston sung about Little Nicky. Sorta funny.

The last, and best one, was Randy Newman at the piano singing about battlefield earth. They imatated his voice well, and the nonsense lyrics about the movie: "boom" "bang!", sung while spacemen ran around, were pretty funny.

    Anyways, just wanted to share

Even better was a skit years ago with an impersonation of Randy Newman if he scored Star Wars Episode 1. Every song he came up with always ended with the same phrase. It was a clever and heeee-larious parody.

"Because stars are in space... there are Star Wars! Ditty-ditty ditty-ditty doo."
