I just watched the opening intro movie for Metal Gear Solid 2...Mr. Gregson-Williams' name flashes across the screen during the credits. What I heard sounded pretty good. I wonder if there will be a score release.

Yea, the music is pretty dang good in the trailer... The main theme is fantastic, sounds like something from a Bruckheimer film. I'm sure considering how huge this game is going to be there will be a score release, and I'm probably going to pick it up.NP: Mulan Promo (Goldsmith) ****/*****

There's a slight chance there will be a score release. Right now, the score is being mixed in 5.1. Afterward, I'm sure it will be mixed down to stereo. I'm keeping tabs on it - and in the process of (hopefully) getting a cd-r from my MV buds. I'll keep ya posted.

I was a 6 or 9 min promo video for it with the game music, sounds great, I hope there is a CD release.--Bri

I'm defitley hoping for a score release. The music out of the videos that have been released have been nothing short of amazing. The newest video that's been released that shows off alot of the gameplay had some AMAZING choiral work in it, sounds like H Gregson-Williams went all out on this one. It's really cool to hear the classic Medal Geal theme backed up by a choir and that ever so famous(or is it infamous?) MV synth. Can't wait!

The enite score is being mixed into 5.1 surround? Why? No games console can playback in game audio in 5.1, only audio for the cut scenes...Dan (UK)

Hhahahahha. Jeron now you skrewed up. There won't be another Dreamcast. Sega is getting out of the console business. They will continue to make games only for PS and Nintendo.Scott

Hey all, GameCube blows. X Box rules! and so does PS2, but X Box hardware kills the PS2, I still want both though.--Brian

I think most of us Texans have put that little episode with the Alamo behind us and since gotten on with our lives.

No, you all missunderstood me. PS2 can decode 5.1 surround, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to do real time 5.1 audio in videogames, and you'll only get 5.1 in FMV cut sequences. So again, the question still stands, why mix the enitre score in 5.1?Dan (UK)
PS: Justin, no Dreamcast can't do 5.1, only dolby surround.

Dan, bro, I don't know. I am telling you what a friend who is working on the actual thing told me. I don't have a PS2 (nor do I want one), so I really could care less.'Nuff said.

Jeron,I wasn't having a dig at your or anything, it just sparked a curiosity. I got wondering if the disc of MGS2 would allow you to listen to the enitre music score in 5.1 on a supplements menu or something.
