    BACK ON TOPIC NOW

Right now Atlantis is right up there with Final Fantasy in the 'movies I'm waiting for' category. It's good to hear there won't be any songs, I don't know if I could take any more singing and dancing lobsters 'under the sea' ~_~ The storyline looked a little all too familiar (Stargate anyone?) but I think it will turn out to be quite a great movie none the less.

As far as the score goes, I'm very eagerly anticipating this one, I was 'introduced' to James Newton Howard pretty recently with 'Dinosaur' and 'Restoration' and I can't wait to hear what he has in store for us this time around, hopefully a spectacular choiral piece like the one used in the trailer.

edit: is there any way to have it take you to Page 2 when posting a reply?

...back to the topic on hand...I think.

Again, thus far James Newton Howard has never dissapointed me and I am confident that he will provide another kick butt score for this very exciting looking movie. I just hope the Disney folks will be able to satisfiy some of the very harsh critics on this board. Let's just remember one thing though...it's an animated feature by Disney. It will be geared towards the kids. That's just the way it is right now.
Were Walt Disney still alive, things may be differently. But he is gone. Unfortunately.

I think it is geared toward teens. It's a cool sci-fi film not "Aladdin". Tarzan was kind of geared toward teens because Tarzan and company did not bust it out and sing songs! I think that's why a lot of people liked it. I believe that Atlantis will be the same way.
