Hey, those of you with Disk 2, I am in the Music and Sound section, every time I play one of those three clips they all begin good, then 2 seconds in the audio cuts out for 1 second, whats the deal with that? It also does it the trailers too.--Brian

There are MAJOR problems with Dinosaur DVD on a multitude of DVD players, and Disney are currently looking into re-issuing the title. What player do you have?Dan (UK)

I encountered only one problem. The layer change in the movie. It glitches more than normal. Other than that, mine is fine.

I had some serious problems with this when I first got it, but I have since managed to upgrade my software so that it plays.
I don't know what you'd do if you were playing it on a regular player instead of a DVD ROM.NP:Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Tan Dun *****

Dan,I have a Sony DVP S360 and I love it. I think Disney should re=issue the title. Do a re call.

IF Disney decided to do this it would be quite an insult to the people behind who makes their DVD. I remember a specific case that Jeron and I discovered with the original Tarzan titles before the special editions. The sound for the rear channels (thanks Jeron) was mixed incorrectly but was fixed when the special edition arrived. So Disney needs to take a look at something going on there and get it fixed.

Disney have ruled out a re-issue at this time, and have simply stated they;re "working with" player manufacturers in putting an end to the problem, this in some cases means yes, a possible player firmware upgrade as John got (which can be done on players as well as DVD Rom). The discs are fine, it's just some machines have trouble playing it. If it were the disc that were faulty, it;d screw up on eveyer machine, on mine for instance, every aspect is perfect (thankfully).Dan (UK)

Yeah, listen to my man Dan...this guy definitely knows what he's talking about. That is why he is buying my next home theater system to keep me from getting anything bad

So, how would you upgrade the firmware on my RCA standalone, Dan?

My Dinosaur 2-DVD set is VERY slow in the menus. It pisses me off! and another thing, in my Gone In 60 Seconds disc, the layer change is horrible! It sounds like the disc completely stops!Clay G.

I think Disney hates DVD. Well, at least Mononoke works perfectly, I don't get a layer change there, or I don't see it :-DBut back to my original question, does anyone have this werid audio problem on their Disc 2?
Also, Jer, you don't upgrade yoursoftware. For a DVD stand-alone issue, its the disc, not your player (well, inless you put things in your player, like forks and food*) so I'd eather extange the disc, or wait tell Disney says they have recalled them.

Writer & Film/Video Editor* = Back when I worked at a computer store (long story) people called and said their CD-ROMs did not work. Then they tell me there is a fork or food in the drive. I have dumb customers.

Yes Brian, I know I wouldn't upgrade the firmware in my DVD player. That was more of a rhetorical question. Sorry I didn't make it more obvious.Hmmmm... I probably should take that fork out of my player, though. Maybe that's the problem.

Oh, Brian, I would have let that "Disney hate DVD" quote slip by about 6 months ago, but they're really making a turn around here. More anamorphic transfers, more DTS release, more special editions. The only big problem is their high prices. Like I said, the problems with Dinosaur DVD are not the discs, but the majority of players.I have a number for you to call Disney on if you want to discuss the problems with your copy: 1-800-723-4763. They're essentially re-authoring the discs, not re-calling them. You should be able to talk to them about getting you name down for a replacement.
The most common probs with the discs on a number of machines (specificaly Toshiba, RCA and Panasonics) are as follows:
Slow Menus
No ability to "pause" the movie
Fst Fwrd scan on chapter 1 wont work
Chapter Selection wont workThere are other problems such as image stuttering, and some of othe seamless branching features not working on disc 2.
Dan (UK)
PS: you DO often have to upgrade DVD Players software, fellas. Many Toshiba owners had to when T2: Ultimate Edition came out, and I had to with my Sony due to audio sync problems on numerous DVD relases.

Thanks Dan for the info, I think I'll wait for a while, then just go replace it. I don't want to deal with tech support people.I watched the movie and it works fine, thats all that matters, well I see the layer change but that happens on my Tarzan and Coyote Ugly too. Hehe Mononoke works perfectly.
