Any comments on Fatal Attraction by Maurice Jarre?
The theme is pretty good on the Essential Jarre comp.

I found this once in HMV for 99p. Obviously I bought it, but wasn't very impressed. It's almost entirely electronic, & not particularly interesting on the whole (IMO). I traded it in a while back.

The theme, however is pretty good (I almost kept it just for that, but didn't). Unfortunately there's little else of interest in the score.

Or at least that's my opinion. Someone else might love it...

If you like Jarre and synths you'll like it....some good action music towards the end, most of it is suspenseful though.

The theme is only heard briefly, and the cue Beth offers the only other bit of tonality....
for better Jarre synths try AFTER DARK MY SWEET,JULIA AND JULIA,NO WAY OUT,DREAMSCAPE

    All the best,
    Sean

Well I'm not interested in his synth scores
what I heard was on the Doctor Zhivago M. Jarre film music collection CDs.
Fatal Attraction has no synths on the performance of the main theme.

There are some selections from his synths scores however; Witness, Year of Living Dangerouly, Mosquito Coast, No Way Out, and to an extent Enemy Mine. I could imagine he would be good at scoring game music in the pre full orchestra game music days.

The score for FA is scored all for electronics and live percussion by Mike Fisher....

The recording on the Silva disc is a re-orchestration Jarre first did(for full orch.)for the Royal Phil. on a Milan CD(Maurice Jarre at Abbey Road).

So if you just like the theme, stick with the compl.

Enemy Mine, on the other hand....half the album is synth and live perc.
The second half is one of the finest fantasy scores to come along.
Year of Living Dangerously,Mosquito Coast and Witness are more ethereal, mood scoring with the occasional avant garde synth piece.

    Best,
    Sean
