I was doing a little browsing for some new music at Amazon and came upon the score to Restoration by James Newton Howard. Now I've never even heard of the movie or could find any kind of review about it. I listened to a couple of the sound samples and it sounded pretty good. Does anyone have this? I'd like to hear a little bit more about it before making up my mind on wether to purchase it or not.NP: Final Fantasy VIII: Orchestrated

Well I wrote a review for Restoration which doesn't appear in the list for some reason, but you can read it here. http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/restoration.html

Restoration is a wonderful mix of Henry Purcell's baroque music ad JNH's original score.JNH's score features one HELL of a theme in track 9 for a wedding scene.
highly suggest renting the film, too.
a tad longish, but ultimately a good story of redemption.posted 02-09-2001 09:02 AM PT (US)

VideoHound Soundtracks gave this CD two stars. or "bones," as is their way.I forget who wrote the review, but they must have heard the same score CD that everyone else has.
this CD is easily a 5-star.

'The Fire' and 'Main Titles' are also great tracks. My first JNH score, and although I'm not fond of the Purcell bits, a great buy nonetheless.
