Did Goldsmith compose that short variation of the Rambo theme that they use with the Carolco logo? I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. It appears before such Carolco production as Terminator 2 and Total Recall.

BTW It's my favorite production company sequence.

Goldsmith did infact compose music specifically for that logo, which does in fact sound like a variation of the rambo theme. He also did the music for the Universal logo not too long ago.

Which is wonderful. I've ripped it off my Dragonheart DVD, but not yet burned on CD - it would be nice to place it before a CD created from a Goldsmith DVD iso score, unfortunately, neither Alien nor Hollow Man are Universal movies.

The New Line logo by Kamen is also pretty cool. It's on Napster but unfortunately the Carolco logo isn't.

Are you sure Dragonheart has the Goldsmith version? I thought Dragonheart was before Goldsmith. When the 'versal logo was by Horner or Williams. I'm not sure though, I'm just trying to get my timeline correctly.

Dragonheart the movie has the old version (I think the one that's usually scored with the Horner theme, but in the case of Dragonheart, the original score starts during the logo).

BUT the DVD plays the new, Goldsmith-scored version BEFORE the film starts with the old logo.

I'm deeply impressed by Kamen's NEW LINE CINEMA logomusik (as they call it in Germany). Does anyone know if Kamen has ever incorporated it into any of his regularmusik?

Actually, that would be the Morgan Creek logo - that came from the ROBIN HOOD score.

The New Line Cinema music hasn't been used in any Kamen score to the best of my knowledge....

Oh that's why I found myself keep thinking "New Line? Could it be New Line? Some how the curve line of the MC logo got me thinking about New Line somehow.

I've done some recent extensive research, and the Morgan Creek logo (paraphrase of Robin Hood as mentioned) can easily be ripped from a number of recent Morgan Creek features on DVD, most of them bad movies, so if you have to- rent 3000 Miles To Graceland, check out it's frantic sex scenes and Kevin Costners horrid sideburns, but other than that, all you get- if you want them, is the Morgan Creek and Franchise Pictures logos.

I've recently developing a catalog of logo music, an imcomplete list to be sure, as there are 40 more I'm looking to get digitally, but I have 60 at present (I wish I could share them right now, but as I have only internet access at work- I can't send them). However, stats you can use (which you probably) already know if you have a DVD player and a good Sound Blaster Live! + MP3 card are that the average logo music is 16 seconds, and the shortest logo music I've recorded is 4 seconds (I forget which one), second shortest is Newmarket Film Company (Memento), and the longest suprisingly is View Askew (30 seconds).

Most versions of Logo music I have is actually Warner Bros with Columbia/Tristar in second and Universal in 3rd.

60 logos have totalled out in 18 minutes worth of length. The eventual goal for me is to burn a personal disc of 30 minutes of logo music material to archive. I know, it's an insipid project- but it gets my off my addiction to Blossom reruns.

Oscar Fanfare, Universal Logo theme and the trailer music to Judge Dredd are things that should be on a Goldsmith compilation.
