Does anyone know what the deal is about this CD?
This the score to the 1987 film Promised Land, starring Kiefer Sutherland and Meg Ryan.

I can't find any information on this CD anywhere; no stores, no reviews, no comments or mentions.
I've heard alot things about this score, like it was only released on LP, and only promo copies exist on CD.
Or the CD is a bootleg. Or it was a limited official release.
I was interested in maybe selling a few of my CDs and I wanted to know what was the value of this one.
I've had the CD for a while, and it does look like a official release to me; it includes credits of performers, publishing and copyright information and even a UPC bar. The CD is supposed to be from a company called Private Music. 2035-2-P
In the inserts there is also a color pic of Howard that I've never seen anywhere else.

    Private Music
    220 East 23rd St.
    New York, NY 10010

    Is that a real adress?

Oooh, I get to reply to this twice!
Promised Land page at Soundtrack Net.
It's worth $12.00, according to them.

Then I guess I get to respond twice :-)

It says $12, but how long ago was that page created? And where you find it for $12? Where would you find it period?

So far I've heard the the LP can be occasionally found on eBay, perhaps thats what the $12 is refering to?

And I get to reply twice again...

$12.00 cause 11.99 was the standard list price when the CD was released.

Not a boot cause B&N once had it.

Not LP, cause the page says CD.

Seen the CD on Ebay, too.

'Promised Land' was on the PRIVATE MUSIC label founded by Peter Baumann, former member of TANGERINE DREAM.
It is/was an official label, but I do think that the J.N.HOWARD CD of 'PROMISED LAND' is deleted.

    Lars.

It was recently bought for me as a gift for around 10 bucks, I think.

Hmmm. I've never seen a bargain bin in a Circuit City. I'll have to drop by one sometime to check it out.

Hey, there ya go, Tim! Maybe you can get someone to pay $61 for your copy! (Course, you could get stuck with $2.99.)

Well before I had my copy, people where offering it to me for $40-$150. Mostly at Henks's adbook. (is it me? but are German and Spanish people greedy?)
eBay, was like $30-$60, but I rarley saw it posted there. I got mine for like $30 I think.
I've never seen it for $2.99, perhaps that person did not promote the CD he was selling very well.

Hmmm. Jeron has mysteriously edited his post and my reply to him comes out of nowhere and makes no sense.

I dunno... judging from my reply, his post had something to do with Circuit City or bargain bins or something?
