My goodness it's been ages since I posted here last.I've been so busy with work during the past few months, working a minimum of 13 hours a day.I haven't had much time to do anything outside of my job.But it is good to be back.

Anyway,I happened to catch the movie Shaft the other day.I was really impressed by Arnold's score.I know there was never an official score release. But does anyone know if there was an academy promo for oscar consideration or a management agency promo made up at the time of the films release for Arnold's use?
    Any info would be appreciated.

Hey Matthew. Arnold's score is great, although recently Shaun and I have discovered (Shaun, primarily) that Mr. Arnold used the guitar riff from Out of Sight in his score for Shaft.

There is a composer promo floating around, but most likely you'll have to settle for a cd-r. And if it's a cd-r you are searching for, you are in luck. Many of us on the board have a copy! (wink, wink...)

Hey Matthew, Jeron is right. There is a promo of the score going around and it's great. Definetly worth getting if you get the chance to get it.

okay, so who's willing to make a cd-r copy of the shaft score for me?
I'm afraid I don't have that much rare material (living in The Netherlands just
    doesn't pay off)to trade with.
    But I have:
    Any Given Sunday promo
    U-571 promo
    Predator
FSM released Tora! Tora! Tora! , Enter the Dragon, Beneath the planet of the Apes and
    The Excorcist
+ approx. 250 commercially released scores
or I'm willing to pay for it

let me know if we can work something out

Sorry NYI, those 4 I mentioned
    (Tora!Tora!Tora!, Enter the Dragon, The
Exorcist and Beneath The Planet of the Apes)
are the only FSM scores I have so far.

    Hey Foobs......What Jerry Goldsmith concert?
See that's exactly the kind of information
I just don't seem to get a hold of, Dammit!

    Hey guys!

Now, I respect that people basically can do what they want, and basically WILL do what they want...

But if there was any way I could convince you to BUY our Film Score Monthly releases instead of trading CDRs of them -- I wish I could get that message across.

We are not some multimillion dollar company. We are working hard to resurrect fan-favorite scores and we need people who want these things to please pay for them. All of the titles are still on sale at www.filmscoremonthly.com/cds/order.asp.

We ship quickly and reliably...I wish people would support us if they want to enjoy the music that we spend a lot of money to save.

So, that's all... thanks for listening.

    Lukas Kendall

I just want to say that Lukas is right, we should support FSM!

I have bought some FSM cds in the past (Poseidon Adventure and Take a Hard Ride) and they are both wonderful releases...although the art direction on Poseidon makes me cringe, thank goodness the recent cds look great!

I just purchased the latest FSM cd, Beneath the 12 Mile Reef simply because of glowing recommendations of the score and my own past experience with FSM.

Keep up the good work! I wish you luck in your efforts to issue 2 cds a month, I wish I could afford them!

LOL, I refuse to trade for cd-r's of commercially or otherwise legitimately produced cds. Lukas, I've got about a $200+ order to place with you before May! Keep your eyes peeled!

Is there anyway I can get my hands on David Arnold's score from "Shaft"? I know it was never released, but the music is AWESOME!!!
