In the reveiw for Goldsmith's First Contact at Filmtracks.com the "Filmtracks guy" says someting about a eighteen minute track at the end. He says that only some cd players can play it. WHAT THE HECK IS HE TALKING ABOUT?! Elaborate hoax or is this guy serious? Have any of you guys seen another track at the end of First Contact?

It's the first I've heard of it. No idea what's going on with that.

He may mean the enhanced CD data on the CD, which only certain CD-ROMs can detect and use.

Or he may mean the fact that the last two tracks flow seamlessly into one another. Some players (especially on the computer) have trouble letting the tracks play back-to-back.

Wedge, you had it right the first time. What Filmtracks is referring to is the "enhanced" portion of the CD, the data track. Some CD players will see that as a track when they scan the disc when the CD is inserted. It's nothing, and sounds the same as putting a data CD into your CD player. In case you have never done that, its total slience and a few little "beeps" as you scan through the track.

Putting Data CDs in MY player results is horrible, squealing, staticky (not a real word) feedback at full volume. Ouch.
