After hearing a few tracks from this one, I decided to order it. From what I've heard (by way of actual opinions and also from the music itself), it sounds great. In all honesty, I'm most likely attracted to it due to the seemingly overt tribute it pays to Jerry's style. Regardless, I'm interested in what all of you aficionados think about Joel Goldsmith's score from Moon 44. Let loose!

Once upon a time I owned that CD. And even though I can't remember what it sounded like, I do remember that I found it totally boring, and unecxiting.
I remember the track titles were really cool though.

I think I backed that score up in mp3 before I sold it, I'll have listen it agian, but I remember not likeing it.

This is a VERY good score. Joel Goldsmith's first symphonic work, I believe. And it does echo his father's work in spots, but by that time (1990), Joel had already been working in film and television long enough (at least twelve years) to jave developed his own style. It's neither as broad nor as deep as the best of Jerry's work, but then the film didn't precisely encourage that.

I was told that the month it came out, MOON 44 was the bestselling disc at Intrada.

I also know that Joel replaced Christopher Young, who was eager to branch out from the horror stuff he'd been doing, but for whatever reason could not quite see eye to eye with the producers. Chris didn't write or record anything for the film. (Well, he might have sketched out a theme or something, but as I remember it, they fell out over differences that had nothing to do with Chris's music.)

I haven't heard much of Joel Goldsmith's music, but remain very fond of the work he did for TV's THE UNTOUCHABLES. I'll have to cadge that promo some day. I have the STARGATE SG1 disc ($4!), but it's hard to judge that album, since so much of it is just cues lifted from the original STARGATE (I never saw the TV show.)

Its not too bad in places. It reminds me a lot of Jerry's style in late '70s. Best, JW.

    LOVE IT!

Lot's of action. Good theme if not great.

When I got it, I could not stop listening to it.

    Graunke Symphony plays perfectly.

Keith Grant's recording is top of the line.

    Christopher Stone conducts.

    Out of 5, I'd say Moon 44 get's a score of 4/5.
