I know this isn’t really a musical comment but has anyone tried listening to the Director’s commentary on "The Patriot" DVD? It’s almost unlistenable - he says "Kind of " and "Like" about three times every sentence and drove me nuts after about 5 minutes.
Watching the film again I think there is maybe too much music, which is occasionally overblown..I sometimes felt the images could speak for themselves without upbeat martial music or heart-on-sleeve surging strings. (It pains me to say this as Williams is my fave..)
What a shame the "North Star" music isn’t on the soundtrack album.

PS Has anyone heard Mel’s commentary on the "Braveheart" DVD (hasn’t reached England yet)? I’ve heard it’s not very enlightening?
