    Hi,
I dont' want to sound to mushy, but I have to say that these message boards, and this site in general is really a great, great thing. I mean, it is really nice to be able to communicate with someone about film music and not get a weird stare.
All you guys AND GIRLS! are a good bunch and I'm very grateful to the creators of MovieMusic.com. I have benefited both emotionally and materialistically (^_^)because of this site.
    GOOD WORK!
    ...I....*sob*...promised myself I wouldn't cry..*sob*....

    thanks,
    Cenzo

JJH, as usual, you do make me laugh.
But the sentiment is very true.

This IS a wonderful place, and I love being part of it.

PeterK may not be altogether happy with my presence, as I have frequently criticized his managerial methods (WHY was Ford Thaxton banned?), but putting that aside, I have also been very outspoken in my respect for him and for this website.

This is a great place for music lovers.

Chris, I think you should e-mail Peter regarding his reasons for banning Mr. Thaxton.

Cenzo, in response to your post: my sentiments exactly! I've made some life-long friends here. Some of them I've met in person - and will never forget. In fact, I look forward to furthering my relationships with those people - and of course, I look forward to meeting new folks as well. It's all because of MovieMusic.com. Without a doubt, this is truly a wonderful place.

Pete just sent me a nice email about my being here a year. I love this place and I love you all.

That said, Chris, I knew Pete had few nice words to say about Ford, but I had no idea he banished him from the board. I knew FSM kicked him off their board. I may slam Silva, Ford may email me to tell me I'm crazy, but if I were running these boards, I'd let him speak.

Thanks for the words everyone - understand that I feel the same way for you participating here as you feel for the existence of the place.

Chris, you are being unfair. That is not at all what I think or feel about you. People brush up against me all the time, criticizing my "rules" for this place. Because there is some implied "power" in being the "administrator," I take criticisms as natural phenomena. Who, in a position like this, has never been criticized? No one. Sure, people have emotional responses to threads being moved, deleted or edited. It's natural, but from my point of view, I try and give it the intellectual approach. So, no, I don't particularly mind your presence at all. As we've seen, the kind of presence I am not happy with are those people who like to take everyone for a ride (Dex? dantoris? etc?), and use us as experiements. I do not appreciate that kind of behavior, intellectually or emotionally. I also am not a very big fan of people who come in here and treat others without dignity, just because they don't happen to have silly first-hand knowledge of film music goings-on. People come here to learn and excite themselves over movie music, to share their love for it. They don't come here to belittle or be belittled just because they know Maurice Jarre lives on Sea Vista Drive in Malibu, California, next door to the Twittys and across the street from the Gannons. Who cares? It's not that important. The music brought us here, let the music keep us here.

For all intents and purposes, I don't need to justify Ford's banishment. It should be clear. If you want more, just email me.

    Well,

I'm glad I am not the only mushy one on this site. Most of you know me, some of you know OF me and quite a substantial amount (I think) wonder about me. Bottome line I love this place, have always respected it and the people that make it what it is and I wish I had the proper time to dwell in here everyday. Yet while my responsabilties in life do not allow me to be as much a precense as I used to be, this will be always a place to visit every, single day, for you guys are now part of who I am. This is family. This is great.

To name the people I have met here, either in the alleys of cyberspace or in real carbon based flesh, would take me another hour and I have to play the good uncle and put my yellow cab cap on. So suffice it to say, that the friendships that have evolved from this site and the ones that will in the future are way to numreous, special and increditbly important. Heck, before this site AIM was none extitstend in my vocabulary.

Again, this is the bomb site to be, the bomb site to visit and it's a bomb to be part of it.

    Later and out,

    Scott

Hell, I thought this would be another thread about the F-word. You people are so conservative!

I didn't know Ford was formally banished, although I can't say I particularly miss him. I DID wonder why he wasn't soaring it at certain moments to revel in the perceived shortcomings of others. (As he is well known as perhaps the most inveterate gossip in the field, I was always amused on the rare occasion or two when he actually questioned my sources! )

Has anyone visited a place called the Moron Shrine? Ford isn't listed as a moron, at least not explicitly: someone else on another Board (The Simpsons, I think) is called "so delusional that even Ford Thaxton is arguing with him, and Ford is RIGHT." Made me laugh.

Anyway, this is a nice place to be, indeed.

P.S. meegle is male, I think; I seem to remember "meegle" was a nickname a female coworker (and/or unrequited crush?) tagged him with, based on his real name.

I think it's a shame that Ford was banished from a bulletin board, regardless of the reasons, when the information he provided was generally useful information.

If anything, I think we need people like Ford to provide us with "inside" info, as well as the (occasionally harsh) dose of reality that is lacking in many instances here.

Ok, we need some claity. Ford's here to offer it:

"For all intents and purposes, I don't need to justify Ford's banishment. It
should be clear. If you want more, just email me."

And tell them the truth why don't you?

That your a paranoid coward who can't deal with folks who know more then you
do and won't drop to their knees and kiss your ass.

    That's the truth Peter.

And your not even man enough to admit to your "Community."

Hell, you didn't even have the courage to send a email to me TELLING that you
    banning me.

That says much about your character or lack thereof.

You don't even follow your own rules.

Which makes you a hypocrite as well IMHO.

When you reach the age of reason, let me know.

    Have a nice Day

    Ford A. Thaxton

Well, it doesn't really explain why you chose to ban him, just that he's a bit bitter about it. How does your quoting his email explain anything?

Does anyone sense that Ford hates me? Or is it just me? He likes to come in here and belittle the place. Occasionally Ford offers a bit of news here and there, but so does everyone else. This isn't strictly a news message board.

I seem to remember not too long ago a Mr. Thaxton publicly denouncing the MovieMusic.com ecommerce store, for no justifiable reason. Does this not help paint a picture? I think enough people know why he's gone, and yes, I agree with Rocco, I haven't particularly missed him.

If anyone else doesn't get it, just email me like I suggested earlier. This gets every nasty on message boards and it doesn't have to be this way. Enough, please.

Ford just sent me Peter's reply to him, and told me to post it on this board (which I will do) since Peter posted Ford's private email without asking...... it's only fair play.
