I know I'm going to be laughed at but what the heck

I got the score few days ago and although most of the cds are filler music to accompany the cartoon, track 7 - Tears Of Life has got to be one of the best tracks I have heard. It has one of the greatest cue!

OK ok.. I'm a 23 year old male that cried when the cue played. The music was so fitting with Pikachu crying hehe..
    so I'm a sissy...

Just try listening to track 7 and see if you agree.

NP: Pokemon The First Movie (Track 7 - Tears of Life)

My little sister has it... I hate it. Go figure.

NP: Cleopatra, Trevor Jones ***** (This CD has been stuck in my player since yesterday. As a result, of the 10 other scores I got in the same package, I have played one. Once. )

I don't see how something like "Pokemon" (originally titled Pocket Monsters that was a SNES game back in 1992/1993 do we all remember it? I do!) could get this much praise from, it seams ALL people. Personally I can't stand it.

Also, I think Jeron said "the score was great and that I should/need get it." This was last year sometime, I think I told him to shutup about it

::looks around the lion's den:: "WHERE ARE YOU JREON?!

I think it's pretty dumb that you guys think that just because a movie is dumb that the score has to be. Personally, I don't judge a score by what movie it came from, if the music is fun to listen to--which Pokemon is--then why not? -_-'
I'm not saying the music is amazing, but it is an enjoyable listening experience if you like Pokemon or not.
I also don't think anyone should be ashamed to enjoy a score from a cartoon or any movie, no matter how old you are and no matter how bad the movie is.
I mean Cutthroat Island sucks, but the music is some of John Debney's best.

Well, that's what I think anyway.

Oh and before I become a topic changer, like so many people on this board >_<, let get back to the question at hand.

Yes, Exarkun I bought Pokemon the First Movie score (a while ago actually)and though it doesn't have the fun sound of the Pokemon series Soundtrack I do like the score. I agree with you too Tears Of Life is good track. Don't worry your not alone, I think we all cried when we heard that track (I mean that in a good way ^_^).

    Cenzo

P.S. Crono. I'm asking this out of curiosity; what are you talking about Pokemon game for SNES? Are you maybe thinking of Monster in My Pocket? I'm curious...?

Alright, I WILL admit, the score does have it's moments! IN FACT, all of the score, save the last 3 or 4 dinky tracks, are very well done. I concur with Exarkun, "Tears of Life" is a great piece of music. Awesome stuff.

Crono - I see you. We're in here together (the lion's den). But just so it won't be you and me, I'm gonna drag someone else in with us! Just so all of you know, JUSTIN was the guy who convinced me to purchase the cd! Believe me, I don't regret it. There really is some good score to be had, albeit it IS Pokemon. ::sigh::

Cenzo, I think you might be right, it's been a while, but I think your right on the title, good call bud.

In the spirit of giving everything a fair chance before i judge it, I actually gave it a listen. It's not a masterwork, but it is actually surprisingly very good for the genre. If you liked this, I'd actually recommend downloading (from Napster, perhaps) ''The Legend Comes to Life'', from Pokemon 2000. (Still waiting for a full score release on that...)

P.S. Ah yes Pokemon 2000 would make a very nice release. It's a shame the general public doesn't appreciate film scores or we'd probably get one. Rats!

Call me crazy as I realize this topic is no doubt very old at this point. But I also have the original score to Pokemon: The First Movie and I'm 23 years old too right now. Nothing wrong with that. Good background music too. Not the best, but still good.

I have the Pokemon First Movie Score. I love it. I also own Batman: Mask of the Phantasm by Shirley Walker. I wish they would of released more Batman Animated Series music, the theme was fantastic.

Most definatly Batman: TAS was a quality show with very very good music. If i could watch it in reruns, i would.

I think it was more adult sometimes than it was supposed to be. Very dark, not the WB version where they lightend it up and even made some of the bad guys look cartoonish. The show had it of little reality and WB destroyed it. Another reason to hate the WB.
