Not to be picky, Bulldog, but shouldn't that be Seven Brides For Seven Gutes?Or are you trying to say that Gute is...well...you know.
Rocco...I'm disappointed that you missed my Gutezilla.

I had it that way to begin with...but gutes substituted for brides better than for brothers. Besides, it's, um, more interesting the way I've got it!

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in about the movie. Or is that old news now?
When I first saw it, which was actually last year, I was admittedly surprised at its quality. Watching at work during a slow day, I of course got a lot of flak whenever the Gute was onscreen. But then he had his Waterloo, and the response to the film by others went through the roof!
The rest of the film was all good, though one person commented on the awkwardness of Goldsmith's waltz.
Ahh, whadda they know?

In lieu of breaking up the Gute stuff...
I JUST saw the film on ENCORE's Mystery Channel. It was pretty cool and yes, as Daniel2 said, very dated. While I liked the story and the direction I do think it kinda of petered out towards the end. And it was a seemingly gratuitous with the blood. And to top it all off Lieberman (Olivier) didnt die?
ANYWAY...
Goldsmith's score really carried this film along. I think another composer might have taken a minimalist attitude towards the story and scored only a smattering of music. Thankfully Goldsmith scored it the way he did. (Looks like I have a new score to look for). Although the score is VERY reminiscent of CAPRICORN ONE.....
So tell me, is this music hard to find?

well, I do know the score was issued on LP from A&M Records SP-4731.I have seen a CD, too, but I do not know the label. I think the CD contains thew exact contents of the LP.
The LP features lengthy suites, the first of which is nearly 18 minutes long. There is also that cheesy pop song "We're Home Again,"
and a couple more track of score.NP -- JJ's Christopher Young compilation

I'm just looking for info about an AV receiver I might buy, and would you believe it, I found a review written by someone who has at least the same name as The Gute!http://www.aslgroup.com/arcam/AVR100etown.htm
