What will they be? Shore's main theme for LOTR? Any second of Zimmer's Pearl Harbor? A quirky ape-tango from Danny Elfman in Planet of the Apes?

    Here's mine:
    1. Invasion music for Pearl Harbor.
    2. A brooding choral piece from Shore when the fellowship enters the Mines of Moria.
    3. A proud moment when Horner composes a fine score for Enemies at the Gates.
    4. A soft, exquisite theme from John Williams for A.I.
    5. James Newton Howard proving Disney correct in continuing to use mainstream composers for their animated films...

    Brain ran dry...add on!

PS...How about some of the worst moments you forsee. Silvestri failing to live up to Goldsmith for the Mummy Returns? Zimmer's style not fitting so well for Hannibal? A crappy techno score for Rollerball....

Tear-jerking Williams flying music when Harry Potter first mounts his broomstick!

Well, I sure do hope that Zimmer's Pearl Harbor is incredible... I also can't imagine him doing a score for Hannibal... You brought up Rollerball, though. The other day, I was just browsing through IMDB, and I came upon this composer who goes by "BT"... This is the guy scoring McTeirnan's Rollerball, as well as Harlin's next pic with Stallone, Driven... Now, this guy must be an up and rising talent, because there is no way that these two semi-big films would cast the guy otherwise... Why wouldn't Harlin just go with Rabin again? I know he could produce a fitting score for the film... Anyway BT did the score for GO (I LOVED the film), and I remember parts of the score being fantastic... So, I'm actually quite psyched for this guy, even though I know hardly nothing about the man... What else is odd, he is actually staring in Rollerball... Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

NP - Ghost and the Darkness ****/***** .... PS, how the hell do I enable HTML in this thing?

A Techno score for Rollerball?...who knows, this might work fine!

Goldsmith's The Mummy was a good score, NOT brilliant,JUST good!....what makes you think Silvestri can't do as well if not BETTER!!

    NP : Tam O'Shanter - Arnold...just finishing...now what am I going to play next?...hmmmmmm??

I'm very interested to hear what Elfman will do with Apes. Silvestri's Mummy is another one I'll be looking forward to.

Along Came A Spider.... I too CANNOT wait. Bring it on, Jerry.

And after that could you please get signed onto a project that will let you score something, anything, soft and intimate?

(Maybe something delicate like "Snow Falling on Cedars"?)

    NP: Morricone's "Vatel"

Great, Goldsmith is scoring yet ANOTHER flop... I've already read about a dozen reviews on pre-screenings of Along Came a Spider, not one of them was positive... Poor Goldsmith, why can't he just compose a good movie these days?

Erm, I thought Williams had been replaced on Harry Potter....

I'm looking forward to JNH's music when we see the first shot of Atlantis.....

Camillu, yes, I too read read that he'd been replaced, but then I read that he re-replaced himself (or maybe he wasn't even replaced in the first place).

BT, I think stands for Brian Tyler (or Taylor; I'm not sure). Anyway, he's a DJ who did some work on the film "Go." Personally, I don't think it's a good choice to give him the scoring assignments mentioned above; although I don't really wanna hear Rabin trying out a Gone In 60 Seconds part deux with Driven.

    NP: (nothing)

Camillu, there were rumours that Williams has been replaced, and then there were rumours that the first rumours were not true. I don't know the official status, but I like to hope that he's still on the project.

So, Quill, pleasantly surprised? Unfortunately let down? I know this post is old, but it's an interesting one to revisit.

    I guess we can add:

Jaw-dropping Fellowship theme heard in full statement as we see a long shot of the fellowship crossing the icy mountains.

We could put it instead of the Horner idea
