I've been meaning to ask you guys this for ages.I was brought up listening to a faster version of the Flying theme from ET than the one you're all used to.
It's arranged and conducted by a certain John Bell (not Beal) and my dad had it on a tape.
Since I grew up to love this 3 minute piece, I found the original to be a tad slow, especially the beginning, which I think is much more uplifting in 'my' version.
Give it a listen and tell me what you think. Though probably you'll find it too fast since you're all used to the original

Something's wrong with the link. It doesn't download automatically. The file's there, so you might want to right click and choose 'Save target as'.
If anyone can help me get the link to work, I'd really appreciate.

Camillu, I downloaded it... Good version, but I still prefer Williams' arrangement. Mr. Bell's version IS extremely fast - for a second there I thought I was listening to an interpretation by the Chipmunks. Thanks for sharing......... and hey, I know what it's like when you are introduced to one interpretation of something, then are shown the "original." The adjustment can be difficult!
