After having seen just 20 minutes of the movie, I knew I just had to have the score. Finally, after searching for the thing for months, and months I got it in the mail. A Christmas present from a very dear friend of mine.

What a score. What a score. It is truly one of my all time faves. The scope of it all. The theme. Oh, I just can't get enough of it.

To all of you, if you can get this one, get it (it is out of print though).

    Scott

Scott knows from what he speaks. I also have the score, and it is terrific. The tracks "RTA Riot and Wake", "Bobby's Cell" and "Trucker Salute" are highly recommended.

This is a good score by Newman, I agree. His Phantom, Galaxy Quest and Dumbo Drop are good too but all those are very similar. Other People's Money and Disorganized Crime have some good music. Also Coneheads has a tribute to Day the Earth Stood Still in it. His Freshmen and Brave Little Toaster are both good too. Critters is about the only one I don't care for. Mr. Destiny has some good cues in it too. Overall, a very good composer, JW.

"Jimmy Goes To Jail" is a standout cue too.

Mr. Destiny is pretty good. "Larry's Life is Changed," when the main character goes back in time and wins the ballgame, is similar to Hoffa.

David Newman knows how to use french horns. That's for sure.

I can't believe no one mentioned the trailer. "Hoffa Trailer" is one of my all time favorite cues, from this or any CD.

David Newman is an excellent composer who is finally getting the attention he deserves. His theme for THE COWBOY WAY is one of the best western pieces I have ever heard. Other terrific scores are PARADISE, THAT NIGHT, and FIREBIRDS.
