...for us filmscore fans. "Superman", "Marnie", "Objective Burma!", "Jaws" (I even like the Varese), "Phantom Menace", "Beneath the Planet of the Apes", "Tora Tora Tora", "Walkabout", "Under Fire" and various boots including "Alien" and "Hook" etc.
I'm already looking forward to next year and the hinted-at release of North's "Cleopatra" - which I've never seen by the way. What's the music like?!?
I've just noticed that all these are re-issues or re-recordings. Why does nothing new spring to mind?

Laurence, the film itself is too long and talky. Very slow in places. Although, others on here think it is a great film, I rate it as good. North's score is excellent with the two main themes for the two Caesars and Cleopatra. "Grant Me an Honorable Death" is one of my favorite cues in the score. He did the score not so much from an epic point of view, but from the people in the story, more intimate. The themes relay this approach. I like the score, but there are many other Norths that I think more of: Spartacus, Shoes of Fisherman, Cheyenne Autumn, Viva Zapata, Death of a Salesman, Misfits and several others. Definitely worth getting though. John.

Agreed. Cleopatra is a marvelous score that sound's very Spartacus-like in places. Nevertheless, it is a lesser score to Spartacus (which is my all time favorite score).

Don't forget Total Recall Deluxe. There's a timely release if ever there was one.
