I would have to say it's called High Fidelity. I just watched this movie for the first time, and I must say the characters are all straight out of a message board community like this one, uhh, except for the women. High Fidelity has a good share of the female population, unlike this place!

I know this thread may be a little off topic, and hardly any of the music in the movie was Howard Shore's, but has anyone else seen this movie? Damn funny, with an eerie echo.

And while I am off topic, I want to thank everyone for not abusing this site (for example, declaring composer's deaths "for fun"), or using the message boards to do battle with the webmaster, as seems to be the case elsewhere. You guys (and few gals!) are a great bunch, and I thank you for it. After all, you are who make this place what it is. I just provide some means to connect.

Egg nog or Glagg or Czech Christmas Tea for everyone! Woo hoo!

#1. I would agree, for the most part.

#2. Yes, we need more women.

#3. When they ask for a top 5 list in "High Fidelity", THEY ACTUALLY RESTRAIN IT TO FIVE, (making no attempt to "sneak in" another 6 or 7 because they can't decide...)

#4. Cathrine Zeta Jones would be a nice addition to this place....

#5. Don't just rely on the movie--Read the Book "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby--one of the funniest novels this side of the millenium.

I don't know about "High Fidelity," but I've noticed some similarities between this message board community and "The Tigger Movie." Especially with all of the bouncing from topic to topic.

By the way, Bernard Herrmann is dead...

There. That was fun wasn't it?

How about "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" crossed with "The Contender!"

Its great fun be part of the great debates that go on with all us loons!

And thanks to Peter for running a dignified and always informative/entertaining board.

    Take care all!

Right on, Lancelot. Hal, Planet of the Apes? Are we that complex, or do we like to scream and swear a lot? Quill, the Cuckoo's Nest? Hmmm.... And Al, I've finally figured out why I long for the promo/boot of music from The Tigger Movie. It's music sent from the heavens, especially good for reading the boards to. For so long, I never knew why I wanted it, until now....

if Filmtracks were a movie, I would perhaps call it What Lies Beneath, cuz there is ALWAYS a sinister force underneath.

this place is more akin to The Challenge.

    Twin Peaks

Because a lot of stuff seems to going on in the background and people say strange things that don’t make any sense. The stuff that seems like it’s important isn’t; and the trivialities contain all the clues we need to figure out the mystery that we can’t quite define. There seems to be an inordinate amount of chest thumping and dark brooding and people say strange things that don’t make any sense. Plus they repeat themselves a lot. And it sometimes seems like a dream sequence or nightmare (especially on the subject of Hans Zimmer/MV)

But it does have good pie.

    Hmm..

    Much Ado About Nothing?

    Umm..

    The Greatest Story Ever Told?

    or...

    Something with an ensemble cast....

    Kevin

ps. I, of course, would have to shoot the movie, as I will never appear in front of a camera (don't want to break it, ya know).

Ah Kevin, of course you can appear in the movie... you can display your face in the form of a constellation in the night sky. Wouldn't that be appropriate? Either that, or extrememly egotistical.

    Peter, good post. Mr. Off-topic.

    Warmly,
    Jeron

    Jeron,

I'll save the "extremely egotistical" for someone else whom I won't mention, but the initials are F.T.

    There isn't a constellation big enough (size-wise, not ego-wise).

And who said I have an ego?!?!?!? I'm one of the most mild-mannered ones here!

    How about The Wild Bunch?

As to who would score it, there is NO question: Aaron Collins!

It would run the gamut of emotions; action, adventure, suspense, horror, humor, and even disgust.

Hey, if we can pull this together by the end of the year, it would be eligible for an Oscar!
