These are the film theme's that I think are eternal and will never be forgotten...

    A Summer Place
    Gone With The Wind
    The Great Escape
    the Magnificent Seven
The James Bond Theme....and subsequent titles I don't really need to mention.
    Lawrence Of Arabia
    Dr.Zhivago (Lara's theme)
    A Man And A Woman
    Love Story (ugh)
    Midnight Cowboy
    Star Wars
    Indiana Jones
    Jaws
    Exodus
    The Big Country
    The Pink Panther
    633 Squadron
...and a bucket load of other's I've probably missed out?!

The point being, is there any theme's YOU think will be remembered from late 20th century films....well?

    Dances With Wolves most definitely

    other contenders:

Cider House Rules; I think this one will have staying power. great theme music

    The Piano; already a classic
Braveheart, no matter what your opinion of Horner, this one will last

Batman and Edward Scissorhands, ditto; instantly recognizable by lay-people

Powder, already vocalized by Sarah Brightman

NP -- Wonderland, Nyman; even better than Gattaca

    The Godfather

Love Theme from Now Voyager which later became a song

all those themes that became hit songs like Mondo Cane, Laura, Days of Wine and Roses, Never on Sunday, Somewhere My Love, etc. etc.

I always reply to these topics and immediately run out of suggestions (go figure).

"The Green Leaves of Summer" from The Alamo

Will, No Mission Impossible as that's a T.V. theme and there's a kerzillion memorable T.V. theme's, of which it must be admitted that 'Impossible' along with Hawaii 5'0 has to be among the most memorable of all time!

I think Alexander Courage's Star Trek fanfare won't be forgotten even by people not interested in film music.

    NP: Ultimate Edition (John Williams)

All in good fun...she was actually hovering over my shoulder as I wrote it!

Just wanted some levity, after all these heavy-handed, sphincter ripping debates I've gotten caught up in recently.

BTW...Last of the Mohicans is another memorable theme...it actually got me hooked on moviemusic.

    Take it easy...
