You can access the official soundtrack website via TanDun.com or SonyClassical.com. Here's a direct link.

Well it's got some nice melodies. the theme in track 2 is really good.
Does it doesn't have much else to offer, it gets very boring half was trhough. Just slow dull underscore with a cello.

I think I'll wait until I hear this one in the film before making any decisions.

Yeah see the movie first. The CD doesn't do well on it's own.

    BORRIING!

Even for a Tan Dun fan like myself, this sucks. It just doesn't get anywhere. Dull. Dull. Dull. and Dull some more.

Want asian stuff with a cello on the Sony Classical label? Get Seven Years in Tibet. At least that had magnificent theme.
The best thing on the Crouching Tiger CD is the crappy song by CoCo Lee. And that is just a cheap wannabe Celine-Dion-My-Heart-Will-Go-On thing that is barely listenable.

Not like me to say something like this when it involves a score for an action/adventure/epic movie featuring Tan Dun, Sony Classical and Yo-Yo Ma, but: AVOID at almost all costs.

    Hope the movie is better.

I have to disagree with what has been said so far. This score is NOT an easy listen, by any means. However, it is a great, modern classical work. Ma's playing is stellar, and some of the percussion work is superb. Not one to be missed, especially if you're a fan of 20th Century classical, or of Yo-Yo Ma. **** out of 5.

Whatever the CD sounds like, the music is absolutely perfect in the film.

I haven't yet been able to decide if this is the best film of 2000, but it's at least very close, if not the one, for me.
