I thought this would be an interesting topic to do. I've never seen it done here, and with 2000 coming to a close, I was wondering what score you are most looking forward to.

I'd have to say the two that I am most looking forward to is James Newton Howard's "Unbreakable" that comes out on Dec 19th [thats according to HR's site, everyone else says nov 21st] (Hollywood Records bumped down the release date really bad, it was November 19th, I'm hoping it still is). And I can't wait for this movie, it looks great! If you have not seen the trailer, you should check it out.

The other is a release by Varese and another James Newton Howard score, "Vertical Limit." I am also really excited about this movie. I mean the director is from "GoldenEye" and "Zorro" how can you not love this movie? As for the score, I think it will be a good action score. I hope Varese will get us a 40 min release, which would be nice.

"Vertical Limit" comes out Dec 12th.

So, the question now goes to the masses...What Are You Most Looking For This Winter Season?

I'm also anticipating Unbreakable. If the movie's web site is any indication (I believe it's Newton's score playing in "The Signs" and "The Test" sections) it sounds really good.

And according to CDNow the CD is being released November 21st.

Well, we won't be hearing LOTR and Episode 2 this winter season. For the same reason, I won't add Harry Potter (I've just begun to read the first novel, and now I'm very excited about the score).

Most exciting at the moment is the upcoming expanded Total Recall release, for me.

Although I'm not sure who is composing it, Enemy at the Gate looks promising...I believe the director of Seven Years in Tibet is doing it...does anyone know if Williams is working with him again.

    Dungeons & Dragons...crossing my fingers!

    Cast Away...Silvestri I presume?

Other than that...no other movies coming out this winter are blowing my socks off. Thirteenth Day looks promising...but I never trust scores for movies like that.

My two cents...enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hey, wasn't Zimmer supposed to be scoring a film called an Everlasting Piece?

If so, is it going to be an arthouse/low-key affair, or another one of his trademark loud action scores?

    - Another one I'm looking forward to is Rabin's 6th Day.

I'm certainly looking forward to Chris Young's The Gift (maybe his first Oscar nomination?) and Tan Dun's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Elfman's Proof Of Life sounds like it could be an interesting score as well.

    I can't wait!
