Topic: The Cell DVD set to have Isolated Score

Oscar® Winner

Just read the following over at DVDnews. (http://www.dvdreview.com/html/news.html)
It seems we're being blessed with another isolated score. First Hollow man, and now The Cell... (Of course, The Patriot and the Toy Story DVDs both lost thier iso scores at the last minute...)
I'm rooting for the next one: Road To El Dorado! Road To El Dorado! Road To El Dorado! Road To El Dorado!John
"Directed by Tarsem Singh, the film stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Jennifer Lopez, Vince Vaughn, Dylan Baker, Jake Weber, Marianne, and Jean Baptiste.
New Line is preparing an enhanced widescreen transfer for this disc, letterboxed at 2.35:1. It will include Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, as well as a Dolby ProLogic surround track. The featured extras include 2 commentaries: one by the director, one by the production team, deleted footage, a ’making of’ featurette, a special effects featurette, a look into the production design, as well as make-up & costumes, an isolated music score, the original screenplay, the international theatrical and teaser trailers, and a director profile. The DVD-ROM contents include a script to scene comparison and a game demo for ‘Cataclysm’.
‘The Cell’ will be available on December 19th, and will have a suggested retail price of $24.98. "posted 10-26-2000 05:22 PM PT (US)

possibly the best film of 2000 (I haven't seen all of course, but loads better than what I have seen.)a beautiful picture to look at, and an engaging story.
and one of the best scores of 2000. Wonder if Shore would get an Oscar nod for this most difficult of scores?

Shore? Get an Oscar nod? Nah.The Academy doesn't like to recognize subtle talent.

Wheee-haaaa!
The Cell was one of, if not the best, movie of the year. Glad to see it's getting a sweet DVD. I really want to hear the director's commentary and see the script comparison, as well as Shore's wonderful score. But what's this Cataclysm game?
Speaking of the Academy, I would want Shore to win, but is there any other contender? For that matter, what about future scores?

Even sweeter is that we're getting an iso score for Se7en (I write it like that because I'm "hip").Shaun

Seven's (sorry, one thing I am not is "hip") iso score is actually a mix of iso score, sound effects and commentary edited together onto the same track.Way of the Gun DVD is also getting an iso score.

Either way, if we can finally have the final cue complete (with no bootleg cut-offs), I'll be happy.Shaun

Reportedly, the European Papillon release is going to have an iso score, too!

Calling all Roccos, calling all Roccos....if the Papillon thing is true, I'm sure he'll be in heaven.Shaun

or at least a couple steps up from purgatory ...I'll believe it when I see it. Hope so, though.
THE CELL is only a middling film, as far as I'm concerned, but it's still the best new score I've heard this year. Much, much too good to receive an Oscar nomination (for God's sake, Shore wasn't even nominated for THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, and look at all the awards THAT one took!)
