I don't think I'll be seeing this movie until it comes out on video, but I do look forward to the score. Carter Burwell: one of the only composers I'll usually buy without knowing exactly what the music's going to be like. (Well, one can usually hazard a guess in advance: it'll be pretty damn good.)

you know, I posted this with the assumption that Burwell's latest would be in the stores here. Alas, no such luck.
PS -- is it just my computer or is everything outlined in red? If it is my computer, what the hell is wrong with it?

I'm also upset. Our store doesn't even list this album as existing!Shaun [Message edited by Shaun Rutherford on 10-25-2000]

Is it just me, or are scores becoming rarer and rarer?!Clay G. NP Plunkett & Macleane (Craig Armstrong)

Rarer and rarer? Nah, it's just a matter of the respective company's warehouse ordering from the distributer. If whoever is in charge doesn't think it's something that will sell (or they confuse it for an album that's already out there), it won't show up at the stores which that person is responsible for.Kinda frustrating... but it's life. People... there's this thing called the Internet. Then there are these things on the thing called the Internet called "web sites" - some of them are about music. Some of them even send you CDs if you give them your credit card number!Honestly, major distribution pratices are changing because of the Internet. If you aren't a TOWER RECORDS in a big city, you're more than likely, as a product coordinator for a local chain, going to spend more of your time with items that will SELL. Not one or two copies, but many copies. Of the two Blair Witch 2 soundtracks, do you wanna guess which one is gonna sell more? That's what I thought. Brick-and-mortars are giving up on the niche, or limited market, stuff because most people are ending up buying limited market stuff online anyway. Just trends - they may change, they may not. I will say, though, it's kinda funny to see the "it's getting rarer and rarer" comments in an online discussion. While I certainly believe the Blair Witch 2 score isn't in every record store on the planet, it's for sale on at least ONE website (this one in a matter of hours!), and that is all you need if you have a computer, a modem and a phone line! If anything, everything has become a lot LESS rare because of the Internet. Everything. PeterK
