Now, this is from IMDB, so it's not neccessarily right, but Marco Beltrami is no longer listed as the composer for this upcoming Steve Miner directed western. Damn damn & double damn. I was looking forward to hearing Beltrami getting out in the West so much, & now it looks like it ain't going to happen. Is there any basis in truth in this, & if so, does anyone know why the change? Please, someone tell me that it's not true, & IMDB is being crap again. Please.

Oh, & if you were wondering, the new listing is for Trevor Rabin. Which is quite intriguing, although not the most obvious choice (or replacement). I suppose it COULD be worse.

Yes is is true. I am a huge fan and have all of his scores and his unreleased scores. I would have loved to hear Beltrami get to do something else. But I like Trevor rabin also so it's not a total lose.

It's not a total lose, I guess, but here's what to expect:

LOTS of acoustic guitars (a la Twister) and LOTS of the really bad "Oil Rig" stuff from Armageddon.

How much do you want to bet?

Oh, cool! I guess IMDb FINALLY updated the listing with the info I gave them!

I told them about 8 months ago that Beltrami left TEXAS RANGERS, and was replaced by Trevor Rabin.

guess it took a while for them to upload it!

Hmm ... generally they automatically put in what one gives them (it happens faster now than it used to.) Perhaps someone else e-mailed Beltrami's name after you substituted Rabin's. Who knows. Last time I looked, they STILL have Goldsmith and Isham collaborating on ALONG CAME A SPIDER.

Which reminds me, I have to get back to compelling them to update the credits for DAIMAJIN GYAKUSHU ...

So, did Beltrami write a score for Rangers, only to have it rejected, or did he leave before he wrote anything? Anyone?

np Capricorn 2, err 1. Sorry.

Is this the film that John Milius was writing? When is it due out?

I don't think so. It's based on a book by George Durham, & directed by Steve Miner (H20, Lake Placid). I was quite looking forward to it, but now Beltrami's off it, I'm not really bothered. I don't think a release date has been set yet, it's due early next year sometime.

(Man, this search engine is great! Thanks again PeterK!)

Pete M: Beltrami told me he wrote a bunch of score cues as synth mockups. Nothing was actually recorded before he left the project.

Crap. I just name dropped again.

    <sigh>

The only reason I am going to watch this when it comes out is because Oded Fehr is going to be in it!!

Well, A-Rod is havin a pretty decent year despite a faulty start, and Pudge is the most popular player in the All-Star voting.
