I was stacking my CDs according to composer and out of the corner of my eye I realised that the covers of Backdraft and Gladiator are quite similar. Anyone ever notice this?

Well, there you have it - the most useless thread ever posted

Well ya know, I just looked and they are similar. Kind of like Instinct and Hollow Man.
Speaking of which, check out Dave and Rudy. The similarity of those two is amazing!

speaking of similarities, has anyone else noticed how similar those Back to the Future cd covers are? All 3 are almost exactly the same!

Similar? You want similar? Try the covers from Wolf and Othello (the Orson Welles one)!

HA! BTTF is nothing! Have you seen the SW:SE releases? They all have practically the SAME covers!

Speaking of which, don't you hate covers (like Dante's Peak) where the title fills up the whole cover with no room for anything else?

I always thought it was kind of weird that the first STAR TREK covers have Kirk and Spock on them, but then on GENERATIONS there's no Spock, and after that there was no Kirk. I wish you people wouldn't go out of your way to frighten me. I prefer to go through life not worrying about these things.

NP: something with Kirk and Spock on the cover

On the contrary, Kirk and Spock are nowhere to be found on the trek 2,3, and 4 CD covers. (Spock is on 3, but by himself.) Or did you mean the film covers?

Look, it's really quite simple. Now pay attention (you too, Confucius).

Kirk and Spock are on the cover of I, but it's only Kirk and Spock, no Bones. Ilia is on that cover too, but she's not Bones. On the other hand, neither Kirk or Spock appear on the cover of II, although Spock appears by himself on the cover of III. Meanwhile, while nobody appears on the cover of II and IV, Kirk, Spock and Bones appear on the cover of VI, even though only Kirk and Spock appeared on the cover of V. VI also has Chang with the eyepatch bolted into his head on it, but he's not Ilia. Generations has Kirk and Picard on the cover, but not Spock or Bones. Consequently, it must follow that Picard is also not Spock or Bones. However, it must be noted that neither Kirk, Spock nor Bones appear on the cover of First Contact, just Picard (who, as we had previously established, is not Spock or Bones) and Data (who is also not Spock or Bones, and is most decidedly not Kirk, either), along with the Borg Queen, who may or may not be Ilia, but she's certainly not Kirk, Spock, Bones or Chang. However, she's also not Salieri either, who happens to be the only person gracing the cover of Insurrection, but, it should be noted, is not Kirk, Spock, Bones, Ilia, Chang, Picard, Data or the Borg Queen.

Now that that's settled, are there any questions?

I see. Yet why should Spock be on the Generations poster, as he doesn't even appear in the film? Because if he was on that poster, I would have to wonder why he cannot be found on other posters to movies in which he wasn't, like Secret of N.I.M.H. for example. I guess Mrs. Brisby is not Spock.

Strangely enough, Spock isn't on the poster of the 1978 version of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS either, although I'm damn sure I saw him in there. Wearing his hair long to cover the ears, but he's in there. I kept expecting him to exclaim at the familiarity of the San Francisco landscape in the subsequent STAR TREK IV, but then again, his memory was somewhat addled in that one.

NP: spoken-word album "I Am Not Spock" by some guy named Leonard Nimoy (who sure SOUNDS like Spock)

That is not quite correct. If you look very closely, you will find Chekov and Uhura are two of the people standing at the Golden Gate Bridge (in the lower right of the cover). And the guy standing right next to the trash can in the park of San Francisco looks like Scotty, though for some reason you only get to see his back.
