Here you go: a super easy questionKaper's great score for the kind of poor Brando version had how many different versions released on LP(MGM)? Don't count all the reissues. I am talking about the music itself.
Which cues were different? Describe the differences.

At least two versions were released. The final cue is in two forms: one is mostly choral, the other is a tremendous orchestral cue ending with a very powerful version of the theme. The second version is quite good. Best, John.

Does it matter? Now that there's apparently a double CD version coming in 2002?(old topic, sorry)
From TraxZone's upcoming CD listings: http://www.traxzone.com/content/index.asp?section=news&num=1070
There's apparently a 2 CD planned from Rhino.

Wasn't there a remake of this film called "The Bounty" starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin? Or something of the like? Who did the music for that?

El Vangelis Keyboardo did the score for The Bounty, ca. 1984. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0086993

Ah, it was Mel Gibson, not Alec Baldwin! Was the Vangelis score any good?

I recall liking it. But that's all I can tell you about it. Don't remember enough of it.

I am the unfortunate owner of the 2-disc boot of Vangelis' so-called score to THE BOUNTY. The producers were all smoking mescaline-laced dope when they chose Vangelis and his electro-calliope to do the score for a historical film, and a few listens to the music will convince you that he shared a toke or two during the composition process. It is hideously bad, nerve-jangling, distracting and surrealistically inappropriate.Otherwise, it's just swell!

And yes, I would consider a reasonable offer on it.

screw Vangelis.
Thou shalt eagerly anticipate the 2CD release of Kaper's massively excellent score.or thou shalt be damn-ed.
or words to that effect

Great news about a more complete Mutiny score on Rhino---This is a really great score. Likewise great news about a 2 CD King of Kings. That list also includes some more Universal Jazz Cds by Magne, Sarde, and Legrand. This last entitled New Wave may include music from Band of Outsiders and A Woman Is A Woman and if so, it's a treasure!
