Well, at long last I've finished my version of the complete score from Rudy. The isolated score (from the DVD) translated beautifully to CD. Because the isolated score is in raw form, there is a slight hiss apparent when the tracks are normalized (levels are boosted). Thanks to the miracle of Sound Forge and the DirectX Noise Reduction Plug-in, I was able to successfully remove the background noise, creating a full and perfectly clear representation of this wonderful score. Here's my tracklisting:
01. Main Title* (3:36)
02. Childhood (1:07)
03. Coach Rudy (:24)
04. We'll Miss You, Rudy (:42)
05. Four Years Later (:43)
06. You Were Born To Wear That Jacket (1:38)
07. To Notre Dame* (6:55)
08. A Start* (2:28)
09. Tutor for Hire (:43)
10. The Plaque* (2:36)
11. The Key* (3:55)
12. You Did Good, Kid (2:27)
13. Back to Holy Cross (1:23)
14. One Last Chance (1:27) << Great track
15. The Letter (1:45)
16. Tryouts* (4:28)
17. Waiting* (2:36)
18. Back On The Field* (2:07)
19. For Rudy (1:25)
20. Take Us Out* (1:52)
21. The Final Game* (6:13)
22. End Credits* (3:36)TTL: 54.04 (about 18 minutes more than Varese)
*denotes Varese tracksSome of you who have gone and recorded the ISO may have more tracks than I do. Why? I decided against using *every* cue presented on the DVD for two reasons:
1) The source music isn't by Jerry.
2) Some cues were simply hacked up versions of those we already have.Every original, unduplicated note is represented on my version. Nothing more, nothing less. I used the Varese tracks where necessary, simply because the engineering job on them is phenomenally better than what any "home user" is capable of achieving. They blend well with the cues I took from the DVD, so only a slight quality difference is noticeable.
Anyway... haha, I know I must sound pretty darn rigid in regards to how I went about doing this. I only approached it this way because I take a lot of pride in how Jerry's music is presented. If it can't be done perfectly - it's better left undone. I think I've done a pretty sweet job with this one. It meets my standards and I'm happy with the final product.
Anyone that needs track titles ideas, feel free to use mine. Some of those DVD chapter titles weren't very good, so I chose not to use a majority of them (I think I only used two).
Lemme know what ya think!

Good work Jeron. I'm sure everyone here understands that an isolated score being transfered to CD is a process that doesn't take just 5 minutes. Each of us have our ideas of how a score track should be ripped and put on CD and I am sure yours has turned out very, VERY well. Will have to take a listen to it soon. If it were a Media Venture composer I'm sure I would be very specific on how the quality is myself so I hear ya there. Can't wait to hear it.NP - Return of the Jedi

Hey, Jeron,The isolated score on this DVD is in 5.1 How did you downmix it to 2 channels?
Or did you make a DVD with the score in surround?

Yes the process doesn't take five minute. It can take hours. Hell just with The Matrix isolated score....it took me quite a few times to finally get it the way how I wanted it and EACH TIME it took me 8-10 hours to do. Ripping isolated scores and making them sound 100% digital stereo and just plain sounding good takes a lot longer than people think. It can be a very tidious job...posted 04-05-2005 10:06 PM PT (US)

Wow, good times. Way to go digging up the old posts. I haven't ripped an isolated score in awhile, but of the ones I've done, Rudy remains one of my favorites. Shaun Rutherford would always compliment me on this, too - and for those who know him... so Thanks guys.Anyone interested, just toss me an e-mail. It's a great disc.
By the way - it's so incredibly bizarre this thread should surface. I've had a Razr V3 cell phone for about 5 months now, and one of the tunes I mp3'd and transferred over for ringtone and alarm clock purposes, is an edited, looped portion from "Take Us Out". Oddly, it's what I woke up to this morning.
So yeah John, I guess you're right about me.
No better way to wake up, eh?-j

If you downmixed, what choices did you make? I kind of like the surround, mind you. Each channel *is* different...
