I just recently watched "Heat" again for the 5th time and I noticed that the end title (finale) music, that is Moby's "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters." sounds almost completely different and has more closure to the end of the cue. Whereas, on the soundtrack release, its the same basic tune that builds up over and over again and finaly fades away after like 5 minutes.I love this piece of music. Although I sound like a badguy for saying this, because the great Elliot Goldenthal did the actual score to the film, and Moby only contributed a couple of tracks. But Moby's end title cue is very moving and emotionaly stirring. But I like the movie version much better than the original soundtrack release. Does anybody know where I can get the Movie version of the music? An inspired mind needs to know

Thanks for your help!

The movie version of this cue is on one of Moby's albums but the title escapes me. It has something to with his film music.

Moby's cd I LIKE TO SCORE has two selections from HEAT. Amazon's listing has a sample of one of those tracks. GOD MOVING is the other track. It's a good cd, includes a lot of his film work through 1997.Hope that helps.

I saw Gone in 60 secs yesterday, and quite enjoyed it for what it was. I liked the score pieces I heard - some remined me very much of Armageddon - but I doubt I'll buy the CD.I liked the use of Moby's song in the opening titles. I thought it was a very well put together, albeit pointless, opening credits sequence.
Apart from that, I had only heard Moby's contributions to Tomorrow Never Dies and The Beach. I guess I'll look into his score CD.

Hey AaronR1074,Why don't you just record the end credits and burn it to cd. No money, no fuss.

Sebulba,
I don't do this for two reasons.1) I respect the artist and realize that not everybody is as rich as they appear to be on the outside. Just because they sold a few CDs doesn't mean they are a bazilionare. In other words...I don't get bootlegs, or bootleg myself unless certain scores are not available anyway else (IE: First Knight Complete, Days of Thunder, etc etc.) Being a composer in progress as well as an author I can appreciate the ideas behind "copyright laws".
2) Lack of personal technology. I don't have a CDR.
Does that answer your question?

Hahahahahaha, you would've had me if you hadn't posted the 2nd reason. SO you would if you did have one, eh?

.......and also the tune begins playing out before the credits begin to role, so it'd be hard to rip anyway.Dan (UK)

Just for the record, in case anybody was confused about this subject... if you copied the end credits for your own use, or if you copied them and gave the recording (on whatever medium) to a friend, you are not violating any copyright laws because you are not making a profit off of it.NP - Erich Wolfgang Korngold The Adventures of Robin Hood (Kojian/Utah S.O.)

Agreed, Aaron. The Film version is er, more twinkly...uhm, you know what I mean.I've not watched Heat in ages. I may do so tomorrow, crank up the home theater and blast out that 5.1 track on the DVD.

CD-Rs and Napster are great things. I would not have bought at least 6 CDs if it were not for the two.

Turn your subwoofer down though. The jet engine noise when Pacino is chasing down Deniro sounds really cool...but it rattles the walls and shakes your feet. Probably the coolest example of bass and low frequency I have on DVD
