Danny Elfman is going to score Spiderman!

According to Cinescape.com, Danny Elfman has been hired to score Spiderman.I don't know too much about the film, so who knows if it will be a "dark" score such as the two Batman films?

I hope this is true?? I bet it is since it was posted at cinescape.I hope Elfman writes a heroic but dark score for this movie with multiple themes for all the characters. I can't wait!!Matt

Spiderman ain't Batman, he ain't no dark knight so shouldn't expect any kind of dark score!
I have to say that I'm real dissapointed that Elfman is scoring this (hopefully this could change) He's scored enough of this super hero type schtick, and I very much doubt he's got anything new to say.
Spidey needs an orchestral jazzy New York'ish kind of score (New York'ish??....go figure!).
I'd give the Spidey project over to someone more versatile than Elfman like Basil Poledouris or David/Thomas Newman.NP : A Norfolk Rhapsody - Vaughan Williams

We'll see if Elfman really wants to do this one. Already he's done two BATMANs, a DARKMAN and a DICK TRACY ... SPIDERMAN is hopefully going to be a much different kind of movie ... but I'm pulling for Christopher Young, who is scoring SPIDERMAN director Sam Raimi's current movie THE GIFT. It's long overdue for Chris to get turned loose on material like this. Having said that, I can think of way way worse choices than Elfman.

His style has changed quite a bit since Batman Returns...If Elfman does score Spiderman, I have a feeling it won't be at all like any other comic book/superhero score he's done before- unless Raimi tells him to write in that style- even so, I bet it will be a hybrid of new Elfman with old Elfman like Sleepy Hollow.
