Any idea if it includes the track from the song compilation? I am assuming no, unless they changed the track title!Regards,

Yes it does. sort of. it's a mix of 2&1Hey I noticed the surface of my CD looks wierd, like it was melting or something. It still plays. But is this something to be concerned about?

I can't believe how awesome this score is, I was looking forward to it, but even I didn't predict it would be this great. "Sphinx" is one of the coolest short themes I have ever heard. Trevor Rabin is definitely in his element with this type of electronic score. Justin, you better have gotten this today.TimT,
What do you mean it looks melted, the playing surface of the CD or the label side?Audacity

Tim- did the cd go from a cold atmosphere to a warm one suddenly? or vice versa? I've seen what a CD looks like when this happens. Almost like the surface is melting.

I don't know what atmosophere its been in I just bought it and opened it.
I'm talking about the surface of the disc that the laser reads. It looks like it melted then hardened agian. It's still a flat smooth surface and the CD still plays, but the first 3 tracks are harder to read I guess becuase the slightest bump on my CD player and the tracks will skip, the rest don't when I bump it. (Not that I do that regularly)Sometimes when I burn a CDR this happens, but this is not a CDR. I'm suspecting Varese of using cheap quality CDs to write on!

You guys will like this one:Went to my local Best Buy to get the GONE score cd over lunch today. Not a one to be found. So I asked an employee...."We didn't get any in because we still have 40 copies of the soundtrack cd."
So I bebop over to Circuit City..."The other one didn't sell so we didn't order any."
Sigh

AAAARRRGH!! I want my copy!!!
I looked all over up here in Bozeman, and no one was getting it in, or knew what a film score was for that matter, so irritating. I asked about gone in 60 seconds and they would grab the soundtrack. I finally ordered it from Amazon and had it shipped next day air so it would get here asap, hope its worth it, from the looks of it i bet it will be.ActionGuy

I had a hard time finding it and The Replacements as well.I went to 3 Tower Records,2 Borders Books,Best Buy,plus I called the Virgin megastore.Nobody had either scores.I finally tracked them down at Barnes & Noble. But not before I had talked to no less than 8 people who even after my explaining numerous times, still had no idea what the difference between a soundtrack and a score soundtrack was.Even after I told them specifically what I was looking for over and over. They all just kept saying,"yes we have the soundtrack.Your looking for the one with Ice Cube and Moby right?"Aaaaaahhh!!!!!
When will they learn the difference?
My guess is NEVER!!![Message edited by Matthew on 09-20-2000]

I had to call around to about four different stores before I found my copy, even then I wasn't sure. The last store I called was Media Play and the guy I talked to didn't seem to know what I was talking about, but he was smart enough to look in the computer and it said they had one. So I rushed to the store and looked for it and all they had was the soundtrack, with one copy of the clean version of the soundtrack. I was mad, I thought for sure he had seen that one copy of the edited version on his computer and thought that was what I wanted. I went up to the counter to ask about it and I was shocked to find he had put the one copy of the score they had behind the counter for me. It's nice to have a good score buying experience once in a while.Audacity

You know! This is exactly why I buy online! First, I am able to advance order the scores, and second, I get them right when they are released. Sounds good huh?
Anyway, CDNOW shipped mine out Monday, and I received it yesterday! Pretty hassle free IMO!

I have a question about this score. Is there a conductor credited? If so, is there any indication what orchestra was used? I am hearing this is an all-synth score and that it's a typical under-30 Varese release. This makes no sense, because the "under-30s" are usually that length due to orchestral re-use fees. But for an all-synth score?I need the real Gone in 60 Seconds credits!

I just talked to Ford about this, becuase I was wondering if reused fees applied to what seems to be an all synth score.
But he brought to my attention that there was an orchestra used.
In the credits it list:
The orchestra was Conducted by Gordon Goodwin
The Orchestrations were by Trevor Rabin and Goodwin.
The Orchestra was recorded by Steve Kempster at the Easrwood Scoring Stage.
But it's true all I hear is synthisizers.[Message edited by TimT on 09-20-2000]

If you'll listen closely enough (Tim), there are live strings to be heard in the mix with the synth strings and various other synth instruments. Most noticeably in track (2). Check it out.Jeron

scoreboy,I do in fact have the score (my own mix actually). In fact if you havent heard the good news about the psuedo released score, go check out the Chill Factor thread in the general topics section. Its got details on how to make your own from the DVD, and how I mixed mine. Mine is 16 tracks and just over 25 minutes long. As it turns out all the menus on the dvd have different pieces of the score. If you want to trade, let me know.

FINALLY GOT MY COPY OF "Gone" (took amazon long enough). It's by far my favorite Rabin score. Anybody else recognize its similarities to Con Air? Rabin even uses one of the exact riffs from con air. Not that I'm complaining, I love the work he and Mancina did for Con Air.Rich D.

Hey Action, or is it Mr. Guy,I noticed that Gone in 60 was similar to Con Air, but where did he use the same "riff"? I couldn't spot it.

Action, Rich, or Mr. Guy.. heck, makes no difference to meIt's in track 8 (Roundabend I think)
check out track 4 of Con Air exactly 3:26 into the track. Then listen to track 8 on Gone, I'm pretty sure its the same sort of riff. I'm not 100 percent sure its track 8 though, I would grab the cd, but its in my car and its way too cold to go get it.Rich D.
