Well everyone,Today was a fun day for me. (most of you will think I’m crazy but I'll talk about it anyway.)
Today, I beat "Chrono Cross" with a clock time of 36 hours (hehe Justin, you got to beat that time man!, jk) (when my parents hear that I'm finally done with the game they will be happy, but what they don't know is that I pre-ordered "Final Fantasy IX" the other day
, once again, epic story with pictures on the TV, but school does come first). I must say that I'm proud of myself. None of you really know how the first game, "Chrono Trigger" meant to me (to me it was a great story with pictures on a TV
), and now "Chrono Cross" means almost as much as "CT."And now I'm also excited to say that I can now begin writing the novel for "CC." The "CT" one took me almost two years to write, and it's still being edited. However in "CC" I'm going to add a lot of stuff that will fit in with the original story line (if you have read the prologue, you will know what I’m talking about) and I want it at least over 140-150 pages, I know that’s a lot, but I think I can do it.
Now, to those of you who are still playing, don’t give up! The game is a blast from minute one to the final minute. The ending was kind of "so-so" lots of text not much FMVs (I was kind of upset with that) but the end does tie in "CT" great (and it was good seeing Crono, Lucca and Marlie again
) Anyway, I'm going to DL from MP3s from Jeron.
Good night. And to those playing, good luck.

Because I'm terribly comfortable speaking with you about this subject, I won't refrain from being gentle! Hehehe.Kyp, in the grand scheme of things... you know, that magnificent painting called "life" in which all things begin and all things end... where epic *lives* take shape and the earth continues to evolve (or revert)... How in the world can a game, meant for shear entertainment (and profit) make such a dramatic impact on your life? For goodness gracious... it's like me saying something similar about "Pokemon: The Movie 2000" and how it's story so deeply touched my heart. Do you realize how many people would just sit there and laugh? Pokemon affecting a 19 year old film student in a profound way? Now, let's face it. Crono Cross is *not* Pokemon, but still... do you see what I'm getting at? I have a hard enough time staying on top of things without being immeshed and drawn into a world that doesn't even exist! Let's get back to Earth, dude! You'll find yourself making more progress in everything else (that is reality).
I'm your friend. I'm not trying to come down on you harshly... just expressing my concern. Writing a "I've finished" speech is a little much (to me, at least). I support you all the way, but everyone has an aspect of their life that should be toned down a bit... lol (film music is mine)... and well, SquareSoft games seem to be yours! Regardless, still love ya man... and geesh, I used WAY too many elipses. Anyone ever notice that?

What's wrong with loving a story? Just because it's on a game system dosen't mean that the story is less meaningful to me.That's what it's really about, the story.

I'm not saying loving a story is wrong... I want to be a filmmaker... why would I say that? But think about your habits: You listen to the music continuously, you manually take clippings from the web and create intricate wallpapers for your desktop background in anticipation of an upcoming release, you download all the clips available for the new FF movie coming out... you download the video footage guys take of screens from a game that's not gonna come out for some time (Final Fantasy 10 and 11), you write an "i've finished" speech (what the heck?)... and even mention how your parents would kill you if they knew you preordered Final Fantasy 9 (which incidentally you told me how sad you were because that would be the last FF game you would be able to play before they start putting stuff out on the PSX2).Am I the only one that sees this? :-/

Oh dear. Now I look like the big bad guy! Thanks a lot, Kyp. Don't change on account of me - like I said, I still love ya. I just felt this was a good opportunity to point this out, despite our previous conversations. I don't dislike the SquareSoft games. You know I love the stories, scores, etc. But you take that to the next level and make it a lifestyle. You didn't have to make me look like a jerk. You know I'm still your friend and that I care immensily for you.

As to why I listen to the music and make the backgrounds and DL the mini movies for the "FF movie" I can only say this.I love video game scores, look at you all, you listen to "Heart of Darkness" and "Medal of Honor" they are video game scores, just orchestrated. "Chrono Cross" has great music and I wish it was orchestrated but it's not, but even though it's MIDI, it still sounds great and had good themes.
To the backgrounds, I just like having a good thing on my desktop (and anyone else who wants it) I also make movies backrounds.
And as for the "FF mini movies" have you seen the CG in those? It's going to be better then "Toy Story!"

A perfect example of one not understanding the other. Why is it that we try to conform others to our own ideaology?
Let's just live the way we want to live, as long as we don't hurt anyone else.
Jeron, I don't think you look like a jerk, yet you seem to be unable to look at the situation with an open mind. Not everyone is like you, although I wish I had all of your qualities, because those will make you successful.
Crono, I would wager that most on the board aren't really into video games. Those of us who are, appreciate your post, those that aren't, won't say much, I suppose. Keep posting it, cause i know how it feels to finish a fantastic game. I myself have only accomplished this with Zelda. And you know how impressed I am with your prologue.
You know, I would have thought that we, of all people, who have this movie music passion, that hardly anyone else on this planet shares, whold be a little more understanding and tolerant towards the members here who have other passions that we might not share.
Again, only my two cents...

Scott, there's a difference between looking like a jerk and actually being one.Kyp, I apologize. My responses were completely unnecessary for a public thread like this. Besides, you already know how I feel about it, so what's the point of me making a public issue out of it?
My apologies... I'm a retard. Forgive me.

Crono, you know I consider you my friend, although we didn't start talking until recently.
Jeron, you know how much I care about you. You don't look like a jerk and you certainly aren't one, and anyone who would say otherwise will deal with me and my kung fu skills. Now I am going to wash my mouth out with soap or just crazy glue together.

Kyp I'm a little confused about what you're writting. It sounds like you have written stories which are essentially video games and now you are writing books to flesh out and give further substance to the games you've created. I hope I am somewhat right in what I think you are doing. Anyway I think what you are doing is great. I write books, mainly horror novels which have been published by Simon and Schuster's Pocket Novels. I know when I write I literally create a whole world populated with characters and as the book evolves the characters become so real they practically become brothers to me.I've had people approach me and have asked me to try and turn some of my novels into video games. The idea sounds extremely interesting to me but I'm not sure where I would go or how I would market what I came up with.
Anyway the point to this is you have every reason to feel good about what you've done. You've created worlds and people and action and --well I could go on but I've never seem your material--point is Feel Good. You did something most people don't even attempt and if they do all they create is a title and then quit. As for your room's decor, sounds like the product of an interesting mind. Hope you get your work marketed and hope you keep up with your efforts.I'm impressed. Patrick Whalen

Boy, it doesn't matter what you post. Filmmusic, video games. After a few messages it's ALWAYS turned around into a completely different discussion- whether it be an outbreak of the sour stomach in Zimbabwe to a new type of Fungi. But then again, the unpredictability is one of the things that keeps me reading.
By the way, did you hear about that outbreak of sour stomach in Zimbabwe?

Hey Kyp, I'm totally behind you on your love of the game. I haven't played it myself at all, but I have the same situation with the Ecco the Dolphin games. They literally changed my outlook on life. It really bothers me that I don't have the new one yet, but I think that will change soon. Besides, the absense of Ed Anunziata for this project somewhat frightens me."Ecco, if we breathe air, why do we live beneath the waves?"
