As a moderately prolific album reviewer in that portion of the site, I was wondering if it were possible to allow the authors to examine their work before it is posted.

As a general rule, on my longer posts I tend to compose it, read it over in the little display box, submit it, read it over again in the topic itself, then edit it if I need to.

The simple fact is that these little edit boxes we have do not neccesarily show the text we have composed to the best advantage, and it is usually a day before we get to see the finished review up.

For a perfectionist like me, all the little typos and editing mistakes that slip through the cracks are embarrassing.

I was just wondering if their could be an intermediate screen that would show the text as it would appear on the webpage with the option to edit your entry before letting go of it forever...

    Swash,

Good point. Hadn't even thought to think about a "review the review" option. I've written it on my list of things to do. If I haven't gotten to it in a month or so (I am very near the end of completing the store, which is taking 99% of my time right now), send this thread back up to the top.

Thanks for contributing so many good reviews. You are the example!

Oh, and before I forget. Just because this topic has the phrase "Question for PeterK" in it, let's not take it to 600 responses. Pretty please?

In the rare instance when I write a long post for a message board, I compose them in <insert your favorite wordprocessor here>, read them over/spell check, and then copy and paste my post into the fine little form on the web site. This helps me catch most of my spelling mistakes.

I can't wait to see the store, PeterK. Once I get some money in my pockets, I'll be sure to patronize your store! <insert poor college student speech here>

Jon, I myself would do that, but in general I've found that I don't just write the reviews at home. Sometimes I write them at other people's houses, or in a library, or somewhere else. I don't always have the chance to use a word processor, although that is a very good idea.

I would just compose my message on my word processor, then cut and paste it into the board.

Oh, by the way, I'm post number 5!
