JJH's topic on the individual who paid $95.00 for a $20.00 CD of The Omega Man leads into this topic: What is the most expensive CD or LP in your collection and in retrospect were you ripped off or was it a good deal?

About 12 years ago I payed $80.00 in an auction for Morricone's Five Man Army (LP). I never regretted the purchase but I think I may have bid against myself and jacked the price up. Duhhhhh. Around the same time, I also paid $80.00 for a bootleg and "very used" copy of Rio Conchos (45). Would I do it again? You bet! Prior to the release of Rio Conchos on CD, I had music I loved and still do. The CD is a bonus. Point being I paid fairly high prices for two special soundtracks and was pleased because I loved the music. Probably could have gotton the scores for less but at no time did I feel ripped off.

The most expensive score in my collection is The Transformers: The Movie from BotCon. I paid $45 (inclusive of P&H). It is a 2 CD set, with 1 CD with the score and the other some songs. The price of $45, when converted to my local currency somehow costs up to the price of 5 CDs. So far that's the most expensive.

I do hope NOT to do that again.

Well the most I have ever paid for a CD is $65.00 for Akira Ifukube's 2 disc set of Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla (1993) and $55.00 for Ifukube's 2 disc set of Godzilla vs Destroyer (1995)

The most I ever paid was around 40 bucks for a complete bootleg of Shriley Walker's Batman:Mask of the Phantasm. I think I bought the Brave Little Toaster by David newman for around 35 or so...
    Not too bad I think

Well, the most expensive soundtrack in my collection (so far) is the Black Hole/Howard the Duck disc... a whopping $32!

    I love the disc, though.

Ouch. I actually had my hands on the Black Hole/Howard the Duck disc the other week, but the price tag was a spectacular £29.95 (that's about $50 in Yankee money)! The most expensive CD in my collection to date remains Rosza's Golden Voyage of Sindbad, wich clocked in at a fair £16.95 (very roughly $26).

Well, the most I've paid is $50.00. But the most expensive disc in my collection is probably either Blade Runner or Cherry 2000, as far as how much they have and can sell for, not what I paid. I got Cherry for $15.00 back in the day, and Blade Runner through a trade.

Bladerunner bootleg, 2 versions, The Gongo version has better sound. I love it this version, truly a remarkable atmospheric score. The official release isn't bad either.

well, I just spent 40 bucks to get Carter Burwell's score to a French film called Assassin(s). Awesome score, along the lines of Hamlet.

When I first 'discovered' Poledouris I bought "Farewell To The King" for $55 on auction. Later, I came to realize that I would never actually play the original (did not want to chance any mishaps), but rather only play the cdr copy I had made for the playable backup. Finally, as I 'discovered' other composers and wanted to free up some money, I sold FTTK on ebay for $80. So, it worked out fine!
