Okay,Where does one find the score CD to Looking for Richard?
I've looked everywhere I know for it, and can't seem to find it anywhere.
anyone know anything about his scores for something called Naked Lunch, Copland, and Before and After? I've seen those in my searches as well.thanks.

Sad news on Looking for Richard? It's out of print JJH. Sadly too because it's a great score and there was a little more featured in the film. I highly recommend the film. Where's the DVD of this one? I highly recomend Naked Lunch. This score just as bizarre as any other Shore I've heard. It mixes Shore's usual orchestra with the legendary jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman's bizzare and jazzy improvisions on the score. Definetly worth getting. Copland is good and worth getting for the right price. It's a nice orchestral work that has some really nice subtle moments but that brass section is too over-the-top at times which really bogs down the score. And the best pieces of the score are not on the album. Especially the end credits, where Shore uses the brass section to make them sound like police sirens it's really kick ass. Here's a list of other scores by Mr.Shore that I highly recomend:
Seven (The complete score)
Philadelphia
Videodrome
Silence of the Lambs
Dead Ringers/Scanners/The Brood
Dogma (with some reservations)
M.Butterfly
The Fly (1986)
Big
The GameI can't wait to hear The Cell. It should be really interesting.

reservations about Dogma?! blasphemy!anyway. On which label is Dead Ringers found?
I have all the rest of those and love them to death.
but YOU need to get Crash and eXistenZ, both innovative scores. Crash gets a tad old, but it's an interesting listen.

Dogma is good, but should've been better I feel. And I've heard Crash and existenZe, Existenze reminds me of Videodrome in a lot of ways but with more fully developed orchestrial themes which I like. Crash on the other hand didn't do anything for me, although I love the last cue which was the best part of the score. I'm curious to hear what he did for The Yards, which is coming out in October. Dead Ringers is on the Silva Screen label. I think it's out-of-print though. I haven't seen a copy of that in a really long time.

I bought it in Vienna not too long ago, they might still have it at that store, if you don't like a CDR...
