Is there a 2 disc set featuring 3 scores on 2 discs?
The Dollars and Once upon a time in the west.

I thought I saw it at a store. Marion? You have this, don't u? What's it like?

Yeah, I have it. It's fantastic. The first disc contains the (at least reportedly) complete scores to the first two Dollars movies, with surprisingly good sound quality. The second disc is the same as RCA's Once Upon a Time in the West release, with an additional reprise of the main title which seems to be identical to the first track. I believe the sound quality is significantly better than on the RCA disc, at least I noticed some "stereo problems" on the RCA CD, but can't remember hearing them on the 2 disc set. But then, I haven't heard both for some time.

Bear in mind though that there is a more complete release of OUaTitW out there, with 3 additional tracks, if I remember correctly - I've never seen it myself.

The RCA Spain edition contains seven additional tracks. The sound has been remastered and the cover art is much better (it's also specific to the film, which the domestic edition is not). There are no liner notes, but given the crappy quality of notes in the original release (featuring only one reference to the music, and it's blatantly false: there's absolutely no music in the opening sequence) that's not such a bad thing. The music speaks for itself.

I found the CD in a Virgin Megastore. I think all the usual distributors should have it.

Given that this is one of Morricone's best scores ever, it's well worth picking up, even if you have the original release.

When will Paramount get off their butts and release Once Upon a Time in the West on DVD!?!

Hm, my release seems to be from Italy, but the cover art IS specific to the film, it's a painting from the end of the opening sequence, when Charles Bronson shoots the other guys. The liner notes do really state that there's music in that sequence, but there are one or two more short references to Morricone's score.

I watched the West film, enjoy it a lot, not my fave Leone, but class nevertheless.

I was blown away by the score.

I have that release too, maded in the EG
I soupouse is maded in Germany, but the
    booklet reads UK.Ireland.
It comes in a box (Like the Superman release)
and with the poster of Once upon a time in the west as a bonus.
The name of the release is:
    Ä Fistfull Of Sounds"
    74321 660402

I have the Cd of BMG A fistfull..
    and is the same music.
But I never coud find For A few Dollars More,
so this release was a blessing for me.
I'd buyed for $15.00 in Argentina.
So cheap for a such nice album.
Also, the booklet is 12 pages!!!
    Well, sometimes soundtrack collectors
    have a breack for once.

What a beautiful score. Actually, I've seen the film 3 times now, it's my favourite Leone picture thus far.
