it's about 3 am. i wanna listen to
the last album of my day..........
    I PLAY BTTB.
..i've buy it in the summer of 1999
(in his cool jpn lim.ed. book form)
I was wondering to listen to this
    masterpiece, ......full of intamacy,
    the great personal album, .........
the basic Sakamoto status is electro-
    luminescent resource......feeling that few
    composers can get prodige............
BTTB is the only one piano album
since the CODA times (a long playing MerryChristmasMrLawrence piano version
    - 1988 Midi inc. but before released in a
cassette+book named "RS avec piano" -
I LOVE BTTB in ed.lim. for the song sequence more than USA ed. ...........
japanese edition is more immediately and comceptual
    I adore obviously EnergyFflow................
    yes, absolutely.....the OPUS opening
can give the right BTTB's energy flowing.
the book, whatever is a very special packing including trancriptions in music and midi files too!
BTTB is one of the my prefer Sakamoto's work.I have more of 100 about him, including
    YMO....................................
I began to love Ryuichi 20 years ago.
I think he's one or the really few musicians
that still remains everytime in my life....
He's ever changing mood....always be different..be new in the present, in the past, in the future.................
I hope you can buy your personal BTTB jpn ed cd,
    if you haven't...............
in book or in the cd-pack that including
2 bonus track . snake eyes and tong poo..
i have seen 2 dates of the BTTB tour and
unfortunately, i think he never played snake eyes........
there are in my opinion, some songs in the Sakamoto's composition that he could revisit
    in a BTTB form.............
but, you know, he's always looking forward...
    now, i can dreaming.........
    .....................................
    ..........

I love Sakamoto but can't say I own everything like you do.

I picked up Gohatto--his soundtrack to a recent Nagisa Oshima film. SAE had it for $42 but I found it on sale at Tower Records (for only $34). It's 60 minutes of music and I was hoping to find another Sheltering Sky or Wuthering Heights and instead I get another Love is the Devil--more electronics than orchestral music. Still, he gives the theme a piano rendition at the end.

I'm going to pick up Back to the Basic now that I know what it is. With a lot of Sakamoto records, you never know if its pop music or score or what.

Has anyone heard his opera and can tell me about it. How does it compare with his film music?

NP: Kronika Wypadkow Milosnych (Wojciech Kilar)

    Hi Lou,
I think GOHATTO is not so electronic.......
but if you're interesting to Sakamoto
"classic works", I may tell you about his
    famous soundtracks..........
    MerryChristmasMrLawrence, Coda, LastEmperor,
ShelteringSky, LittleBuddha, WutheringHeights, SnakeEyes, WildPsalm, etc...
you can pick up other sakamoto cds:
1996 , 1996 complete version live (laserdisc), 08/21/1996 (cds), music for yohji yamamoto collection (cds), el mar mediterrani (cds), ....................
    and other various tracks.
I hope to suggest you with some works:
Discord and the opera LIFE (i'll write something about it in a next time)...
and then, obviously, BTTB and CINEMAGE...

    I hope to help you.
