I am not really sure, BUT there is a Julie Taymor play called The Green Bird or Green Bird, and Goldenthal did score Julie's amazing film Titus, so I would guess it would be that play, not sure though. Goldenthal & Julie are a perfect match in film/play/scoring.

Since it is a stage production, it is loaded with songs. A mini-review at Intrada said what orchestral music was there was "circus-like" with a mix of "mystic" sound, if I remember correctly. I usually enjoy Goldenthal's works, but I probably won't bother picking this up.

It's already out there on the DRG Records label. What's interesting is I actually saw another very recent Goldenthal release on the "Travelling" label... I don't remember if it was Green Bird or not. Quite peculiar. Let me look into this some more.PeterK

Actually, Aaron, I've heard that Elliot and Julie are companions only, and not married just yet. Don't kill me if I'm wrong, though.Goldenthal has written songs before, although in a more classical, mass-like vein: JUAN DARIEN (also a Taymor production) and VIETNAM ORATORIO, just to mention the two most famous works.

I saw a profile program on Julie Taymor, and there were many in-depth interviews with Elliot Goldenthal about his work, collaborations with Taymor, and their relationship. Very interesting. They are a perfect couple, really.NP: Goldenthal's "Othello"
