Speaking of track titles, Movietunes (which happened to write up thier little page for "The Cell" pretty early) has samples all ready:

This score was very different in many ways from what Howard Shore usually does.

It's obvious that he was very inspired by the imagery in the film, because the music is very colorful.

I'm looking forward to hearing this CD.

I only heard Shore's "The Game", and "The Cell" was a far departure from that; I was surprised when his name came up on the credits, the various array of unique instuments isn't what I expected from someone whose only other score I heard is soley on the piano.

The Game is on more than just a piano. The film is scored for a small orchestra as well. The piano is omnipresent because it is the representation of the Nicholas Van Orton character.

I'm pretty sure you've heard some other Shore scores...

    • The Silence of the Lambs
    • The Fly
    • Mrs. Doubtfire
    • Se7en
    • Naked Lunch
    • Ed Wood
    • Philadelphia
    • Prelude to a Kiss
    • Before and After
    • Looking for Richard
    • Craah

...and that's just scratching the surface.

    What gives...........
The track numbers have been changed.....
The score used to have only 5 tracks, arranged in a suite..... now it's all individual tracks (20)......

I would really like the chance to hear both version.

You mean you'd rather listen to a 20-cue score bunched up into 5 loooooooong tracks? Foobs! If you really want that, just make a CDR and combine tracks.

Incidentally, I thought that most of the music was just Shore trying to not sound like Se7en (and failing mostly). Upon hearing the opening music (which doesn't sound like Se7en), I thought "When is that solo going to END?" Imagine what people just walking into the theatre thought!
