ok.... i know that this has nothing at all to do with movie music, but i thought i would ask anyway. do any of you like Madonna's new song "music?"
personally i love it...i cant get enough of it. i listen to it all the time. i think madonna is the absolute greatest. i would marry her...and she is twice my age. this song is on the cutting edge bringing in some house music elements to mainstream music.
any of u have any thoughts on Madonna's "Music?"

Sorry Cole, I have to disagree on this one. I have loved all of Madonna's songs up until this one. I mean, the beat is awesome but it could've been a bit better. But it's Madonna so I am not going to say it is bad.

ColeI must admit, when I first heard Madonna’s Music I was a little disappointed; it appeared rather tepid and bland. But, it has grown on me, though the video is rather uninventive and tame – though I love the reference to Big Ben.
Your observation about ‘house’ music elements coming into mainstream music is very valid – mainstream music is continuing to embrace many disparate musical styles and ideas from the present, and from the past – it’s very exciting.
Much as I like Madonna’s Music now, I don’t think it is anywhere near as good as Craig David’s Seven Days, Robbie Williams’ Rock DJ, Melanie C’s I Turn to You, Jumpin’ Jumpin’ or Storm’s Time to Burn – amongst many other excellent current ‘songs’.
However, the Beckham/Bowers Out of Your Mind, though admittedly catchy, is somewhat vacuous in my opinion - and even a little irritating.
But at the moment, nothing can beat Spiller’s Groovejet (If this Ain’t Love) – absolutely wonderful.

I hated Madonna until I saw Dick Tracy, and then she won me over."Sooner or Later" and "More", the Stephen Sondheim songs, are among my all-time favorites.
Now you've got me wanting to hear this new song "Music".

Well with cds other than scores I tend to buy only The Best of...... because of all the old tapes and records I had. With some artists I will buy individual CDs. The only cd I had of Madonna was The Immculate Collection. I bought my daughter Ray of Light and had to turn around and buy myself a copy after she played it. Sigh, it seems like yesterday that I was a junior in high school and "Like A Virgin" was playing. She has stood the test of time and although some of her actions have been questionable at times she is still and will forever be a babe. Sorry a little flashback of a high school boy's fantasy.

I haven't heard it, and if it's like any of her other recent stuff, I hope I never do. Her new "sound" is a joke. Who is it - Robert Orbit - that's producing her? Lousy. Their work on "American Pie" was horrible. Boring vocals and synth programming my 10 year-old cousin could probably top.Madonna's latest experiment is exactly what's wrong with current pop music (no, not just her). ALMOST all of the current top-40 nonsense has no vision and no scope. I pine for the days of Queen, Styx, and Zeppelin (to name a few) when they appreciated and understood the vast expanse that music should encompass, rather than whittling it down to this narrow, choked-out garbage they pass off nowadays.
