I read an article today talking about the fact that they're releasing the "score" for the T.V. show, and son of a gun, Amazon has it slated for release next week.So what do you all think? We all know the show is HUGE. Might it be possible that soundtrack sales for it might benefit from the popularity of the show (remember "Titanic")?
I'll admit it - I watch the show, though mostly from a sociological, student-of-human nature aspect. And I might pick up the CD. I'm into tribal, island-sounding music. It could be fun. Anybody else?

I watch the show religously. The main title theme took some getting used to and I have to say doesnt seem as cheesy and ego-centric as it did in the beginning. I doubt Id get the cd. HAHA...CBS has made too much money the show already so ill be sure to get the CD used!!!I think SUSAN will win!!!!!!

Sue will be long shot. Remember, the members of the former Pagong tribe all knew that Sue was very duplicitous in her relationships with these people and they were very aware of the voting alliance that she and Richard spearheaded. As far as being a favorite with the tribal jury, my money is on Kelly who bonded with Jenna, Colleen, and her own teammate Sean. However, Kelly has twice been marked for banishment by the voting alliance but she has won the immunity challenge two weeks in a row. Should she win it again I think it'll be clear sailing for her into a million bucks. If not, she'll be voted off the island and it will more than likely come down to Richard and Rudy. Richard has earned the contempt of almost everyone who now resides on the jury (with the exception of Sean) so I feel that when it comes time for them to decide on the winner they'll remember his naked escapades and pass him over. Rudy, while initially being a candidate for banishment, has managed to hang on for so long without really ruffling any feathers that I believe that he'll be the winner should Kelly be banished.P.S. I have no life.

No to Susan! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!It would be great if, when Rudy wins, they had a slo-mo montage - you know, the kind the sports channels slap together at the end of the World Series - of all of Rudy's triumphs and failures as he struggled to survive in the South China Seas, all underscored with "The Final Game" from Goldsmith's Angie. Wait, no. Rudy! D'oh.

I'm not really surprised Rich won. I actually could have gone any way with the last three. Though I agree with Mark - I thought Kelly was gonna get it.I REALLY hate to admit it, but in a weird of way, I'm sort of sad it's over. For those of us who have watched from the beginning, we've lived with these people for a couple of months, and even started to like some of them. It's strange too, because I don't usually get sucked in to these "reality" shows. The only other show that I watched almost as much as this was "Road Rules" in Australia. I think for me, it has to do with the adventure aspect more than anything else. That's why I'd rather watch "Survivor" 50 times over than watch "Real World."
Now - are we going to have Aboriginal-sounding music for "Survivor - Australia"?

I dug Survivor a lot. I would not compare it to Road Rules and such, for all of those MTV shows suck, Surivior is awesome. I ask you people this...do you agree with me that without RUDY, the show would have been a downer. I mean Rudy carried the show...his hillarious 1 liners were the best. Too bad Rich won, but he was 2nd next to Rudy, I always HATED Kelly.

Alright, I just found it on the CBS website. The composers are Russ Landau and David Vanacore. Whoever they are.

Random thoughts...I loved Road Rules. I especially liked the one episode (a while back) when they had a mission to sneak into the Real World's house and steal an 8-ball!!! It was great!!!
How could you "HATE" Kelly? If there's anyone I "HATE" it's the damn smug host Jeff Probst.
If I'd been on the island I would have gotten along the best with Colleen.

Well, I won't be buying the soundtrack. Some interesting music, but nothing that I would want to buy to sit back and listen to.As for the show, I wanted Rudy to win. I'm really surprised that Rudy lasted as long as he did, since he got quite a few votes at one point during the game.
I'm happy that Kelley did not win, though. Kelley was too worried about being nice and saving her butt at the same time. Rich was just worried about saving his own butt, which was the correct way to play the game, no matter how dirty it got... $0.02.

Dang - sorry we blew it for you Richard. Although you may want to tune in for Sue's speech at the final tribal council, plus Gervase's response to it. THAT'S compelling television.

I wonder if the company was smart enough to make portions of the last episode's music feel like Gerrard's contributions to Gladiator or even Sissel's contribution to Titanic. In these two cases, the typical non-collector soundtrack buyer tends to buy scores with a heavy dose of Enya-like vocal material. Without the music from the last episode, especially this vocal stuff, it seems there would be nothing interesting on the soundtrack, aside from the main theme.Again, I wonder if the vocal was product placement for the "Survivor" soundtrack. I wouldn't be surprised, after seeing "all the other" product placement in the show!
Thoughts?

The product placement used in the show was so blatant - it was like watching "Truman Show." It really was quite funny though.Good point P.K. I suppose we'll have to ask the composers if they did it on purpose to boost sales, since anything else would be speculation. I could see it either way. They'd already gone in that direction with the main theme, so I could see non-commercial reasons for continuing it (as if THAT wasn't commercial enough). Or, they just wanted something that's been commercially proven.
Like I said originally - it's going to be interesting to see if the popularity of the show has any bearing on CD sales.

Shoot. I wish I'd get all of the news reports at once so I don't have to keep posting.Anyway, Frankie Sullivan III of Survivor, the rock group ("Eye of the Tiger" & "Burning Heart" from Rockys III & IV) will ask a Chicago court for a preliminary injuction against the release of the "Survivor" TV show soundtrack. He's claiming trademark infringement, since he trademarked the name "Survivor." A judge declined to issue a temporary restraining order against the release.
