First FSM releases GUIDE TO THE MARRIED MAN, then Elfman is slated to score SPIDERMAN. And now this! I'll say HALLELUJA for the third time! And just in time for my online return!!

I,m hoping both boards will bring more people on board. I like both sites because
their business purposes are different so there is information and networking here that
will not take place on FSM.

Of course. But personally I only have time to maintain my activity on ONE board, and unless the FSM board turns into a non-active piffle, I will have to prioritize the latter.

vt? oh where for art though, vt?This was to be the day of reckoning... the day the FSM message board comes back. You were just going to blast the MovieMusic boards until we had all left.
vt? Your mom is calling you home. You better git home afore momma comes a runnin with the shotgun...

Actually, I did a little bit of investigatin' myself. VT has trained me well with all of his abuse!I see that Thor is VT's mouthpiece here, without all the noise and bad typing style. Thor's quietly telling everyone with his posts "FSM FSM FSM."
Ok, so I was suckered. I went to the FSM board and see that vt is there, and so is Thor, totally dissen' the MovieMusic place! "How do we get everyone back here, because some of them are still hanging around the mm.com boards." Way to go Thor! With you and vt at FSM, I am sure it's the place to be! All this talk about there being no such thing as "FSM vs. [insert anyone here]." Yeah right, true colors now showing!
VT? Come speak for yourself one last time, please??? Please? You've built this VendTetta thing up way too much for you to do nothing in the end....
It's interesting to see the software FSM has chosen to use. A complete rip-off of the UBB software! Kinda like a James Horner score. Hmmmm, maybe that's what I need to do to attract the throngs, rip things off a little more!
I look forward to see how this plays out. Will people frequent both places? I think not. They will go where they think momma treats 'em best. That's how it is. Thankfully, it looks like vt and Thor (are they the same person!? boy, they have me fooled) have made their final decision! VIVA EL FSMMB!

I don't know what you have against me, Peter. If it is my lightweight criticism of your censorship or whatever. But let the record show that I'm NOT intending to "take everyone back" to the FSM board over this one. In that FSM post you refer to, I was simply asking how we could get the FSM board going again with the ol' regulars, NOT NECESSARILY at the expense of this one. Heck, people do as they wish. Who am I to tell anyone where to go, huh?
I'm sure that there are plenty of posters here that have time to BOTH post on the FSM board AND this one (like Rocco, for example
). I, for one, do not. But I doubt I will be missed anyhow.Somehow deep down, I feel that it is perhaps the "envy" and competitor in you that speaks. You are perhaps fearing the loss of members from this forum that you've created. Well, as I said, I don't think you need to fear that.

(still laughing)... great score choice, PK! And hey, can we put this in some sort of "keepers" thread forum? I'll want to come back to this one years from now... I just know it.Thor, I think that if you want to go over to FSM, that's cool. Wherever you are most happy. You'll always be welcome here, though I'm not sure I can say the same for VT. The comments he's made over at FSM leave a bad taste in my mouth. Your intentions are clear. VT's intentions are even more clear. Your agendas are different... or at least, that's my current assessment.

I plan to divide my attention between the boards, actually. I've enjoyed many of the discussions I've had here, and I don't understand why so many people have this asinine "one or the other" attitude....anyway, MovieMusic.com has a monopoly on my posts until I remember my old FSM password...

Thor,It was all with humor, knowing that I'd probably never hear from you again. So, my apologies for being insensitive.
As far as envy and competition, I laugh every time I hear this. Once the MovieMusic.com store opens, the official MovieMusic Marketing Machine starts. The number of visitors and members that will arrive as a result of this Machine makes the group of us that are already here (or there, in FSM's case) look totally miniscule. So, no envy.
Just can't wait to get the store open this month so many of these new people can find a home online like so many of us already have.

I wouldn't worry about it Peter. If people were only here temporarily, then they weren't really here at all. I think that there is room enough for both boards. I intend to read both boards and post on both boards if I have something to say.The only thing that would make me forsake this board are:
1. Getting Banned
2. Nobody Posting
3. Discovering I would rather collect stamps than listen to film scores!PS. Thor I guess I'll see you at FSM.

Jeron & Swashbuckler:Hey, it's not like I won't log on to this board now and then. It's just that - due to the fact that I'm a very busy person - I have to choose (yes, that's right, Swash) which board I'll dedicate most of my time to. I hope everyone can understand that. I'll post as often here as I have the last two months (which is quite rare because of my "summer absence"). I think this board has a lot of nice individuals, I've participated in a lot of interesting discussions and I hope to participate in more (just not to the same extent as my pre-July days).
PeterK:
Oh, I didn't realize it was with good humour. I thought you was after me, following the little Andre Lux-incident from awhile back.
Regarding envy: Of course the return of the FSM board will have a miniscule effect on your site and board. After all, you're www.moviemusic.com . But somehow, I feel that you - at one point or the other - fell out with the whole FSM thing (like Ford Thaxton and Lukas Kendall). I just ASSUMED a certain sense of envy was the root of that, but who am I to make psycho-analyses of people I haven't even met?

The FSM board is back up and running? Does that mean I don't need www.moviemusic.com any longer? Does that mean I can finally be mean, derogatory, slanderous, insulting, hateful, irritating, vulgar, and nasty to all my fellow posters here and tell everybody to §$%&%! off and die (slow and painfully)?Or should I continue to be my considerate mannered self and not inflict totally superflous and unecessarily extravagant humiliation and torture on my fellow posters here (unless in self defense)?
A question of Shakesperean proportions, don't you think?

Zwar, a "person" by the name of vt already tried the "mean, derogatory, slanderous, insulting, hateful, irritating, vulgar, and nasty to all my fellow posters" gig and it didn't turn out so well. History will repeat itself on this board. However, now that FSM is back and vt is there, you have a companion to trash everyone on the FSM board.
If it's your calling to be pals with vt, this question you pose is little more than a scribble on the cement wall on the side of the freeway.

K, that's a wonderful analogy, "a scribble on the cement wall on the side of the freeway", perfectly illuminating the Shakesperean implications of the question, yet connecting it metaphorically to the timely creations of our modern urban societies, always frenetically moving from one place to another.

Well, if you want my opinion (and I know that no one really does), I will be here. I never did anything with the old FSM board, and won't now. Maybe it will change, but when I was there last year I felt like if I wasn't the be-all and end-all of music knowledge, I wasn't welcome.Still, I've been here since the beginning, and here are where my loyalties lay.
As to your slanderous remark Mr. MWRuger, I will have you know that I dabble in stamp collecting (you ever seen the composers issues? I also do space and aircraft), and I am AFFRONTED (and abacked) by your vituperous remark! I DEMAND an apology. (Oh yeah ---

I used to collect stamps and I have tried to "Get" into it again and I'm afraid it's hopeless. If it was a toss up between watching grass grow and mounting stamps on hinges, color me green for grass. However, I will stand by remark that I will be here until I would rather collect stamps than listen to scores.
(Yes I did get the composer stamps, but not because they were stamps, but because they had golden age composers on them. Silly)

Well, now we at MM.com aren't "serious film score collectors." At least according to "some people" who have threatened to "take over" our score review area.Kevin
PS. MWRuger: I was never able to get into stamp collecting. Maybe because the "term" for the stamp collectors is so hard to remember to pronounce!

Help me out here, guys. What exactly is this big "vt conspiracy" thing? When I first found out about this place (thanks for letting me know, guys! grumble grumble), it was just as the vt issue was reaching its climax, because he responded to one or two threads and then was suddenly gone. I never quite figured out what was going on, as I arrived too late for his apparent showdown with Peter. I don't recall vt ever being rude to me, but he must've really annoyed a lot of people. So what exactly happened? His banishment seems to have universal approval here--though, as I said, he never did anything to me!
