You know, I'm a huge Goldsmith fan and I've never heard this score or even seen this movie. But as there's been talk of it a lot lately, I thought I should let you Under Fire fans know I saw a vinyl copy in a used book store yesterday. It was in good condition, and I'm not sure it's going anywhere for a while. It's strange to see Goldsmith on the Warner Brothers label- that's one company I don't think he's had his score released on in years.

Widescreen, it is a truly incredible score and if you snag for Jeron, get him to make a tape for you. Of course, then you'll have to get the japanese re-release, but no plan is perfect!

BTW, will the Japanese reissue of the CD be available internationally, or do I have to order it in Japan?NP: Tristan und Isolde (Richard Wagner)

I don't think it's an international release, Marian... though I do think Intrada plans on stocking these. I'm not sure which venue would be better for ya. You make the call! Just remember, TZ: The Movie is gonna be out as well.Jeron

I've got "Under Fire" on vinyl and its one of Goldsmith's best (IMHO). Lovely haunting themes using Pan Flutes and great guitar playing by Pat Metheny. Its not what I'd call a typical goldsmith score but almost classical in its style and approach
(and obviously influenced by South American music because of the film's setting!!. Lovely score! Pick it up straight away! Gae

Hm, I'm not so sure about TZ right now. Sure, it's Goldsmith, but there's so MUCH Goldsmith.
But I have to get Under Fire soon. Intrada may be a good idea, because I'm sure they have some other stuff I've been looking for as well.NP: Tristan & Isolde (Richard Wagner)

Funny I noticed quite a few Under Fire and Twilight Zone scores on auction all of a sudden. Someone has Under Fire listed for around $200.00 I believe.

I bought the cassette tape at Footlight about
a year ago and transferred it to CDR the first thing. I can,t imagine the new CD sounding better. It came out fantastic and
sounds better than some of my std issue
Goldsmiths.

UNDER FIRE is a wonderful, flowing score. But I must admit that I think it is just A TINY WEENIE BIT overrated. There is nothing particulalry innovative about it, and one can easily tire of it (at least temporarily). So I can wholeheartedly recommend it, although it's not exactly Jerry's best.
