Yes, but Peter, those things are already happening. The real question is, will this make it worse? It might, but consider this: If A bootlegger decides that he wants to make illegal copies of an Out of Print score, does he really have trouble finding it? No.
As a consumer, would you pay 20 -30 dollars to get a copy of this illegal score when you could get a legal one for 5 -6 dollars? I doubt it.
Plus I have a CD-R. If I have a buddy who wants a particular score I can pay, download and burn it for him quicker than he could get the bootleg. All legally.
If what people say is true, that they would pay for a legitimate release, then this would be an easy way to do it.

Hmmm... there is much to be thought on...As you guys hash out the possibilities, the more plausible this system becomes. PeterK does have a point when he mentions that just having a CD in the store may sell them... don't forget the success of their score album for The Crow, many of which were bought by people who thought they were getting the song compilation (although most of them seemed to like it; I don't recall anybody ever returning that score album).
I remember hearing something about the score from Three Kings being made available exclusively on line. How did that work out for the interested parties?
